The Rust Belt is dying, Ohio's urban centers are in decay, jobs are fleeing the state. Hillary's message on jobs is weak, and Trump's red-meat bandwagon is attractive to the desperate. Many will support Trump or Cruz or Kasich despite the fact that those three are actively working against the worker, especially Trump.

Interesting that Bernie Sanders isn't doing that well either against the Republicans. I think that says more about the red-meat the GOP throws to the desperate and poorly educated than it does about any Democrat running right now.

And would give the Presidency to the Democratic Party. There is no path for GOP victory unless they take two of these three states: OH, PA, FL. I think PA will be blue come November, so there's no math for the GOP to win if they lose Ohio.

I am of the belief a popular favorite son VP candidate can make a difference at the margins though and that is all that is needed in OH.

For instance if Gore took Bob Graham in 00 FL would have never been too close to steal.

There is always going to be a certain part of the population that are set on their decisions and those that aren't.

I do wish more Americans voted. Turn out, even in Presidential years, is embarrassingly low. I do not expect Americans to have a level of political engagement like many do here on DU, but I do wish they were more involved. I think the more people who vote the harder it is to steal an election. Also the more people vote, crazy candidates will get less attention. I think the Republican clown car is so goofy because of low turnout.
