Do folks realize why overturning the popular vote rankles some people?

Folks have been beat up, folks have lost their jobs, and yes folks have even been killed for trying to exercise their franchise. I was reading this book about Freedom Summer and there was this disenfranchised African American woman and she said something to the effect of I never thought much about voting but if folks are working so hard to prevent me from voting it must really be important.

The popular will is inviolate. Leave it alone.

No one will work on these issues....they walk away after the 'selections'.

the usurpation of the popular will is more blatant than ever before. It is happening in both parties. The big-wigs in each party are not happy with the person that the voters seem to like. So, by using "superdelegates" and other shenanigans, they are manipulating the process to get the candidate they really want. I fear for the conventions. We could see Chicago '68 all over again, if both Democratic and Republican voters go to their conventions believing their votes have been stolen.

Popular vote totals Clinton 12,135,109 Sanders 8,967,401 Clinton +3,167,708
Pledged Delegate count Clinton 1645 Sanders 1318
Superdelegates - (712) Clinton 520 Sanders 39

The popular will of the Democratic Party as shown in the votes is reflected directly in Pledged Delegates. The ratio is off in Superdelegates, but still reflects the will of the people, who have strongly favored Clinton.

The Republican Party has a problem, having publicly conspired to stop the choice of their party. (Yes, Trump is a nightmare for them, but he is what a majority of their voters want.

And to be fair the lead you cited for Clinton excludes caucuses, I believe. But even if you apportion them her popular vote lead is around 3,000,000.

sure the popular vote favors the Establishment. In Washington the State 77% of Democrats favor Sanders while all the Super-Duper Delegates support the Establishment candidate. Of course they rely on the Clinton/DNC for campaign help.

But I'm guessing you don't favor democracy like welcoming Sen Sanders challenging your "Chosen One."

because they know she will treat them good. Why people in the 99% would vote for her I can only guess it's Authoritarian Adulation.

15% (and growing) of the nominating power in their undemocratic hands.

Their vote is weighted, they get to vote twice, and they can usurp the will of the people.

With respect to you comment about popular vote, that isn't the nomination metric either. Some votes weigh more than others under our delegate allocation system.

When left-leaning independents are being kept out of primaries all we hear is "the rules are the rules, the party can do what it wants." But once the rules aren't in your favor, here comes the whining.
