Dem2
(8,168 posts)She's one of the best in the business, I'm sorry that your favorite candidate is not being swooned over by Rachel.
SusanCalvin
(6,592 posts)I actually don't expect much of her at all, seeing who cuts her paycheck and controls her continued employment.
Biases tend to do that.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)That's insane, she's the least influenced person I've seen in media for a long, long time.
SusanCalvin
(6,592 posts)And will not find out tonight as I am going to bed.
I like her, and I'm sure she is uninfluenced as far as she can be, given the overweening power of our corporations.
Duckhunter935
(16,974 posts)It was not hate mail, just how disappointed I was in her bias and her not mentioning Bernie for his first six months of running

(62,444 posts)The show - the one on MSNBC - is named after a person.
Her first name is Rachel.
Rachel is the first name of this person who is ON the show on MSNBC that's named after a person.
Okay, got that?
The show on MSNBC is named after a person named Rachel who is ON the show that's named after her.
But wait! She has a last name too. And her last name is Maddow.
So this show, which is on MSNBC and is named after a person, okay, is named after a person named Rachel Maddow.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)That's indeed the correct show that you have identified, the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC.
jberryhill
(62,444 posts)So, in your opinion, how did the show get its name?
Dem2
(8,168 posts)THAT'S IT!! The show is named after the host, Rachel Maddow!
jberryhill
(62,444 posts)...called the Rachel Maddow Show is itself actually named after Rachel Maddow?
We'll have more on this. Watch this space.

(46,436 posts)This is exactly why I stopped watching her show. I'm not an idiot, and I don't need someone to explain something to me five different ways.
jberryhill
(62,444 posts)If you were going to have something explained to you five different ways, then there's also five different ways it can be explained to you five different ways.
I can explain it to you four ways and then one way; or I can explain it to you three ways and then two more ways; or...
Blue_In_AK
(46,436 posts)who has noticed this annoying little tic. She could cut out all the repetition and shorten her show to 1/2 hour.

The definition of a contested convention is automatically in play when two or more candidates arrive at the convention without enough pledged delegates to win. In other words there is no presumptive nominee. So all Bernie was doing was saying yes, it will be a contested convention because he had premised that comment with the fact neither of them would have the requisite number of pledged delegates to win. She spun that into something he was attempting to do to "take" the convention when she was ahead. It was nothing of the sort.
I really have lost all respect for her. She needs to be fair when reporting on political issues, but she is not.
