Clinton fundraising leaves little for state parties

The Democratic front-runner says she's raising big checks to help state committees, but they've gotten to keep only 1 percent of the $60 million raised.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/04/clinton-fundraising-leaves-little-for-state-parties-222670

The victory fund has transferred $3.8 million to the state parties, but almost all of that cash ($3.3 million, or 88 percent) was quickly transferred to the DNC, usually within a day or two, by the Clinton staffer who controls the committee, POLITICO’s analysis of the FEC records found.

By contrast, the victory fund has transferred $15.4 million to Clinton’s campaign and $5.7 million to the DNC, which will work closely with Clinton’s campaign if and when she becomes the party’s nominee. And most of the $23.3 million spent directly by the victory fund has gone toward expenses that appear to have directly benefited Clinton’s campaign, including $2.8 million for “salary and overhead” and $8.6 million for web advertising that mostly looks indistinguishable from Clinton campaign ads and that has helped Clinton build a network of small donors who will be critical in a general election expected to cost each side well in excess of $1 billion.

The arrangement has sparked concerns among campaign finance watchdogs and allies of Clinton’s Democratic rival Bernie Sanders. They see it as a circumvention of campaign contribution limits by a national party apparatus intent on doing whatever it takes to help Clinton defeat Sanders during the party’s primary, and then win the White House.

they're taking their victory lap now. They think they'll just coast to victory in November, and that the silly naive progressives are not really important in the GE.

Even if she does win, the party is being decimated by poor leadership which has led to a bloodletting in state and local races, which hurts the development of Democratic candidates for higher office. If her greed and DWS' stupidity go unchallenged, the party could be in deep trouble despite the various demographic and social shifts that SHOULD be greatly benefitting the Democrats right now.

He hasn't given any money to any down tickets. He has no chance of winning but still continues to fight against the Democratic nominee. Realistically, he has lost, now he should try to work on getting more Democrats in congress (or at least 3rd party candidates in). Why doesn't he work with Hillary and attempt to influence her. She says she wants to work with him on having a more progressive ticket. He could have had a chance to influence people but he has turned off a lot of people. I really liked and respected him but feel quite different now. I am turned off and just shut him out now, despite really agreeing with him. To be honest, I feel that he is being selfish and that his actions are now pretty much egotistical.

To be honest, it rankles me that another old white male is getting in the way of what could be the first woman president. Sure, it would be nice to see a Jewish president, but as a woman around Hillary's age, I can't help but feel betrayed.....

If he succeeds in screwing up things and we end up with a president Trump and blows our chance to see the Republican Party destroyed, he will just be looked upon as a spoiler instead of a hero. He used to be my hero.
