2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWho is this "we" which Sanders is referring to in the speech he is giving right now?
He keep saying that "we" are going to raise the minimum wage, we are going to do this, we are going to do that.... He doesn't get it - "he" is not going to do a damn thing!

Why do you dislike him so much?
All honest people must admit that much of what can happen now, is because of him.

And how did you magically get off my ignore list.
This is like the 6th one of you people.

(5,648 posts)I could talk about you and you wouldn't even know about it to defend yourself. That would be fun. Take care of that would you.

(9,497 posts)just ego driven posting.
I don't bother posting about you. No one would care.

I'm ok. At work now. It's kind of slow because it rained AGAIN here in CT. Thanks for sending the rain this way. Hope it's getting better down there with the weather.

(5,648 posts)You supported a defeated candidate that is either lying to his supporters or lying to himself. I wouldn't mind one bit if he continued to press for his issues, but implying that he can still win is flat bullshit.

(3,709 posts)I could give that same speech and get the same response.
Just once I wish Sanders would say how 'we' are going to accomplish all these things.
Same speech every time I see him... nothing new. He's tapping into emotion just as Trump is.... no substance from either one of them.

Hillary is going to be President for the next 8 years even if not one of Sanders fans on DU vote for her. You have better get used to it.
Of course, even in your opinion it could be worse if Trump or Cruz were to win (of course they won't), but still, just think of all of the reasons you will be able to find to bitch about during her two terms in the White House.

(30,481 posts)And Sanders will be a vote for us in the Senate.
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)Then he will truly be a man without a party.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)It's been been around two months since he voted with the republicans on legislation. I do worry as he has been known to side with them on major pieces of legislation like when voted against a pathway to citizenship for over ten million people. But more often than not he will be a Clinton voter. Including in the GE.
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)If he is smart he will settle for minor concessions which won't hurt Hillary in the general election. If he makes too much of a public stink, after the election he might well get his status in the Democratic caucus reduced dramatically. And if that happens his usefulness to the State of Vermont will be questionable at best.

(16,631 posts)HRC will not get the nomination. Moreover, she is under FBI investigation, initiated by the IG that Obama appointed. This is serious. She has violated a number of laws, the least serious being bypassing FOIA rules. But much more than that. Dismiss this at your own peril.
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)Everyone of Sanders's supporters on DU could vote third party or sit on their hands during the general election and they wouldn't make up one thousand of one percent difference in the voting totals in any state. And that goes for the Hillary supporters on DU as well.
Let's not over emphasize the importance of anything said or done here. We are about as important to the general election as internet polls.

(5,648 posts)Just in case it isn't clear to you
But exactly which up and coming socialist politician will rise up to lead the "revolution" when Sanders is gone from the scene?
The "masses" don't lead the revolutions; they are rudderless without leaders. Who is going to lead the revolution?
slipslidingaway
(21,210 posts)an issue.
Leaders emerge that we cannot always foresee, it happens when people finally have had enough and take a stand. At some point a person emerges for their defiance to an injustice and people rally behind her or him.
That part of history is yet to be written, but we are seeing the beginning of the movement for economic equality.

(4,950 posts)for us?
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)Your candidate was outvoted by millions of vote and didn't even get the nomination.
Nanjeanne
(4,950 posts)say I guess. I understand now. Citizens don't get to ask anything of our country. Mama Clinton will make all decisions. Her supporters will follow behind saying "thank you oh wise woman" and the citizens aren't allow to ask anything of our leaders I guess.
Thanks for the civics lesson. So valuable.
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)....they (you) are being disingenuous when it is clear that their positions are not representative of the majority of their fellow citizens. And that my friend is extremely clear. Otherwise your candidate would not have got his butt beat.

Nanjeanne
(4,950 posts)is mine -- it really can't be untruthful but its amusing you need it to be. Hat I hear when someone says WE is mine to own. The word WE means citizens to me. Obviously not to you. But I don't hear with hillary ears.
