to leave it alone. If it did then they could have just voted for Bernie instead. But they didn't. She is winning and he is losing.

...and a possible indictment hanging over her head, the safer path is certainly to nominate Sanders. He's got solid support from the Independants no candidate can win without...Clinton loses Independants badly, not to mention has alienated a sizeable segment of her own party. The historic moment of a woman candidate will be lost when she either loses to Trump or is impeached. Why risk it? There are many eligible women as potential candidates without the baggage and poor track record.

Sanders supporters support the movement, not the person. He has earned our votes, but they're not his to give away. Many simply won't vote for Clinton...and she loses independant votes badly. A Sanders endorsement will not change that.
