FACT: Clinton won Indiana in '08..

Same candidate, same State...loses it tonight, 8 yrs later, after many pundits and party leaders have assured voters that she's the likely nominee.

Why aren't the pundits talking about this?

Is this a 1st of this season? Will she drop more States that she won in '08? Is it a harbinger of things to come?

Tonight, Indiana thinks that Mrs Clinton isn't likely anything...let alone the party's nominee!!

May 2016

The people she was winning in '08, particularly white men, are not on her side this cycle nearly in the way they were in 2008. She is openly embracing President Obama instead of running from him. So there's a lot of dynamics about this cycle that are the reason why she's won some of the same states and lost others she won in '08.

Tue May 3, 2016, 11:22 PM
May 2016

But this time she lost the anti-jewish? Polls show people are more likely to vote for a black man as president and woman than a jewish man. Also age dynamics, I think 8 years of fresh votes and all the younger people that voted from before are on Bernie's side. Also could be the independent backlash for all of the hate they have been getting from the DNC. Also could be enthusiasm, the people that support Bernie have proven they are far more enthusiastic, she wins with mail in votes, ballot harvested votes, and closed elections...so with all of the drumming that this is over, enough people may have stayed home? This could be an outlier, but the votes seem way lower than in 2008.

Voted for Obama in the GE and turned Indiana blue for the 1st time since '64.

So the white guy/ black candidate notion is Bullshit...

I'd believe a generational argument before that...a great deal of her support in '08 has died...that makes more sense than the white guy/black candidate nonsense

Your first post said...

Fact: She was running against the Black guy in '08

which implied race was a factor that helped her in 08 (basically painting them as racists)...but then you said...
That was before 8 years of Obama demonizing

...which implies they changed to racists? You know life is not a multiple choice where you can choose choose "c" or in this case "racist" for everything you don't know. Your posts is like the tootsie roll add, but with "racist" instead of "tootsie roll".

Wed May 4, 2016, 05:50 PM
May 2016

She was running against the Black guy in 2008. Therefore of course she was going to get that segment of White voters for whom Obama was never going to get their vote even in 2008

Fast forward 8 years later and she is openly embracing a guy who has been demonized for the past 8 years. Couple that with Donald Trump who is now the leader of this nationalist sentiment and Clinton wanting to expand the Obama legacy and of course she is doing worse with those voters. Her whiteness helped her in 2008. Its not helping her now, but what is definitely working against her is embracing Obama with that crowd. Sure part of it has to do with an angry rust belt electorate upset at coal and manufacturing jobs leaving as well since she's supported trade policies, but no it does not make less sense.

Its not that difficult to understand.

She is also expected to lose West Virginia, South Dakota and possibly Kentucky, all states that she won in 2008.
