Hillary Clinton vs Trump is the most lopsided US election race in the modern era: .

Now that he’s wrapped up the nomination, his chances of being America’s next president have shot up from 17 per cent to 29 per cent.

But that still makes Hillary Clinton a 69 per cent favourite (Mr Sanders or ‘some other Republican’ both have a 1 per cent chance).

...of course Clinton will be an overwhelming favorite. As the Washington Post pointed out, the 19 states (plus DC) that have been won by the Democratic candidate in each of the last 6 presidential elections account for 242 electoral college votes. Just 28 more and it's a done deal.

<snip>

"Politico reported today on a Florida poll conducted for a business group in the state that shows Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump by 13 points and Ted Cruz by nine.

Why is that important? Because if Clinton wins Florida and carries the 19 states (plus D.C.) that have voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in each of the last six elections, she will be the 45th president. It's that simple."

Hillary Clinton is the closest thing America has ever had to a President in Waiting.

However, it useful to remember that the first time Hunter Thompson used that expression, he was referring to Gary Hart before the 1988 primaries.

If she's the nominee, I sure hope the Clinton camp doesn't fall into the trap of thinking this will be a walk.

Hillary Clinton is a ruthless fighter. She will fight for every vote, and she will not let up on Trump for a minute. This is not her first rodeo; she knows what she has to do.
