"Hillary helped McCain" in the sense of implying an intention on her part would (presumably) not be accurate. In the course of the intra-party contest, however, Hillary not unnaturally went after Obama and McCain was able to make use of some of that later.

"I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say. "He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/clinton-says-she-and-mccain-offer-experience-obama-offers-speeches/

So you were fine with that, but the rules for Bernie, they are different but it's not about bias or anything it's just that he is not allowed to do what other politicians are allowed to do. 'He may not' you say, defending a candidate who most certainly did.
Hypocrisy is a turn off. Double standards are the building blocks of bigotry.

comment about authoritarians, and the silliness of hosing such an insult out inappropriately does not seem to fit your profile.

In any case, you might want to learn what authoritarians are. Of all the major personality groups identified, liberals are not only the least prone to authoritarianism but we are always societies' bulwark against it. I'm not excepting libertarians and anarchists since their potential destabilization of societies is far more likely to open the door to fascistic and authoritarian regimes than protect against.

This election could be framed too simplistically but not too unrealistically as the forces of liberalism against the forces of authoritarianism.

Here's a link to a very easy to read, and enjoyable, free download book on the subject. The author felt it was extremely important for people to understand so they could recognize and fight against. This author kicked off much subsequent research, which has confirmed, refined, and further developed the results of his initial studies, but never disproved them.

I don't have a problem with that.

I lean toward free speech among progressive Democrats and Independents, not repression.

If you won't vote for Bernie and decide to sit on your hands that's your mistake. I can't force you to.

But speak out and say why after the convention.

There are a shitload of complainers, about this site and its paying guests, on just this one OP alone.

No, he and Hillary are too far apart on the issues. Light-years apart. Like someone here at DU said, Hillary and Trump - neither are "lesser evils", just different evils.
