Hillary forces target Bush donors, Their message to moderate Republicans: She represents your values

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/05/hilary-clinton-bush-donors-222872

If she didn't have the fate of millions in her hands, I would be laughing. Less on those who thought she would represent them, but more that she thinks this is a winning strategy. GOP base and rank file voters voted for Trump. The only GOPers left to win over are the elites, and those are in the hundreds. Not many who has consistently voted for GOP is going to vote for Clinton. JUST HORRIBLE STRATEGY.

NEW YORK -- Hillary Clinton’s supporters in recent days have been making a furious round of calls to top Bush family donors to try to convince them that she represents their values better than Donald Trump, multiple sources in both parties told POLITICO.

The moves come as Clinton and the Democratic Party try to take advantage of deep unease among establishment Republicans on Wall Street and elsewhere with Trump’s emergence as the presumptive Republican nominee.

Top targets for the Clinton team include people like Woody Johnson, Jeb Bush’s former finance chair and the owner of the New York Jets. In recent days, Bush’s brother and father, former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, have said they plan to skip Trump’s nominating convention.

One person close to Clinton said supporters of the former secretary of state drew up a list of Wall Street donors who supported Jeb Bush and other unsuccessful Republican candidates months ago but wanted to wait until Trump locked down the nomination before beginning to make the calls.

“When you think about it there is no downside to making these calls, including for Hillary herself to make then,” this person said. “They may say no but they will talk to her for half an hour about their view of the world and probably say nice things when asked about her publicly. And they might stay away from Trump.”

Even without Trump.

The thing is though this is loser. They are playing the politics of the 90s. She is making the mistake of thinking majority of the people are happy with the status quo and looking for "moderate/center" candidate. This couldn't be further from the truth. Majority (on both) sides are sick of the system, and this election will be less about "values", and more about who they can trust to take on the "establishment" / "elite". She is already lining up with the elite, and making the job easier on Trump.

He can say I'm taking on both GOP/DEM elite. He will have major more appeal among the crossover vote (dem to gop / gop to dem) than she can hope to have.

made the left despise her even more. Hillary Clinton is no dumb bunny. She knows that she burned, leveled and tore down those bridges.

She's got to hunt for votes elsewhere, outside of the Democratic party.

Best of luck with that, sweetheart. The left doesn't like her policies, but the right has a personal, crazed vendetta against her, that includes believing that she is responsible for killing Ambassador Ted Stevens and also Vince Foster. They know every detail of Travelgate, Whitewater, and the rest of the scandals. And many of them listen to Limbaugh and Hannity because "they're the real truth tellers!"

Shows how desperate she is.

Tying herself to the unlawfully appointed BushCheney regime is a brilliant way to alienate the Democratic base. How could she possibly believe she could make up those losses by "winning over" Republicans? The more she caters to Republicans, the deeper she digs herself into a hole.

Mindboggling.

If she's the nominee, she's gonna make it tough for even the most passionate "stop Trump" voter to lift a finger for her.

I'll be bookmarking this, it's a "keeper". Everything summed up in a nutshell. What arrogance this is!

This is Big Reason Number Two why she does not deserve any Dem's vote.

Big Reason Nume One is that nobody under active FBI investigation should be running for President, or get anyone's vote for President. Our bar doesn't need to get THAT low. We have more highly qualified people in this country than we should need to go there. Matter of fact, we have one already in this race.

And there are innumerable reasons behind One and Two.
