Huge Ideas: NAFTA was a huge idea, Deregulation was a huge idea

They were both a HUGE change in policy and had a HUGE negative impact on this country.

So how come the politicians pushing NAFTA and Deregulation for their big money backers were NEVER accused of being idealists and dreamers? It is ONLY when it comes to doing something for the people that it becomes an unrealistic idea, that people believe in ponies.

This is how twisted the arguments have become.

We can't have a VERY small Wall Street Tax on transactions to fund tuition at state and federal colleges. We are told that the governors won't go for it. No one EVER explained why governors with tight budgets would NOT welcome federal dollars to pay for state tuition. You cry that the governors won't pay their portion - though I have YET to see where this was required. But let's say they are, you do realize that STATE dollars are already used to fund tuition at public state universities and colleges don't you? Of course, but the objective is just to MISLEAD people and defeat the idea because ALL OF THOSE big money backers have to be to taken care of.

People no longer go to Washington to work for the American People, they go to cash in.

Amazing how "twisted" the arguments have become.

The sad part about this is that the Democratic Party for the first time in my half century of existence had a candidate who wanted to make or at least attempt to make changes for the betterment of the people not just a select few in healthcare, education, environment, income inequality. Core issues that the Democratic Party has espoused since I have been eligible to vote...and the party turned its back on him.
