Because the party is dying. Registration is at an all time low of 29% and it continues to fall. Hey, it's your exclusive club. Feel free to keep out the non-establishment, the "naive" youth, and independent voters. Absolutely, DWS and her friends can continue to rig the game as they see fit. Short term, that gets you your candidate the nomination. Long term, continue to watch the party to circle the drain while independents grow. Adapt or die.

I can't believe the jerkwad OPs that support positions that are so anti-Democratic.

While I feel Primaries should be closed, they should allow same-day registration as a way to attract new members.

How better to attract people into the party?

It doesn't leave a bitter taste with undeclared/Indys wanting to switch affiliations and being denied at the polls.

Unfortunately, the institutional designs of the DNC and many states want to act as gatekeepers, for not only the candidates chosen, but to control what they deem as 'faction' by those wishing to realign the party. The Democratic Party is no longer dynamic.

The Democratic Party has always been described as a BOTTOM-UP political party, while the Republicans are TOP-DOWN. Over the past several election cycles, the Democratic Party is becoming structured like the Republican Party... TOP-DOWN.

Same extreme fringe issues.

I don't care if Bernie hangs around tho
it's not going to matter.

He has less than no chance and no matter how loud the wailing
of his supporters he's not going to be our nominee.

Hillary steam rolled him.
This wasn't like the back bench he's used to.
He bumped against a well prepared well funded well connected
very able opponent in Hillary

And she buried him.

You know the Op that stuck with me the most from that group (I haven't been back to the group since spring of last year). An OP stating that.... They needed to do to the Democratic Party what the Baggers did to the Republican Party.

And lookie, that is just what Sanders intent is. The destruction of the Democratic party the chaos and mayhem.

How well did that baggers serve the Republican Party? Besides making them the clown car and an absolute loss in the Presidential elections.

The people that participated in that group are the loudest and most strident attacking Clinton now.

They're surely not Democrats.

They're the perpetual victims.
Burn it all down.

The GOP fell to that but that was largely because of Fox News and
othe RW media like hate radio.

The baggers have listen to how they're really victims for 25 years.
The monster got too big for the GOP to control.

That won't be an issue for Democrats.
The malcontents don't have the attention span to stay POd for 20 years.

Bernie is done. And when he concedes they'll disperse and go back
to the Green Party or the Libertarian Party.
