2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHate to break it to you Hillarians but 99% of the protesters were not Bernie supporters.
They were organized specifically to protest Hillary's actions in regards to immigration, Hoduras, Haiti, etc.
Here is a link to the twitter feed of one protestor inside the event. She says she was physically assaulted by Hillary supporters before being hauled off by security.

She is not a Bernie supporter and was protesting Hillary's actions in Honduras and the death of activist Berta Caceres.
Take a look at the comments from Hillary supporters. Very ugly.

(27,310 posts)Hillary supporters are swarming them and accusing them of being Bernie supporters. An accusation that they vehemently deny. And kind of pissed off that, rather than discuss the issues that they were protesting, they ignore them and accuse them of being something that they are not. They also state that their were, perhaps, only as many as 12 Bernie supporters.
They were there, largely, for the issues of Honduras, Haiti, and immigration. Ignoring that effectively silences them.

(25,020 posts)one have to wonder why they are really so focused on reaching out to the stupid, crazy, dangerous, and evil people and "meet them in the middle" appointing their people and suddenly finding comfort with their bullshit approaches as soon as the elections pass.
Sometimes before even that they are so eager.

Here's a thought, instead of constantly deflecting, how about denouncing this gawd awful behavior.

(23,730 posts)it was entirely insignificant to her: being personally annoyed by Zelaya, labeling him a military strongman allied with "our enemy" Russia (she doesn't pay much attention), ignoring her Embassy before and after the coup, and doing what she could so that Micheletti stayed in under a democratic veil whose sole purpose was to make Washington look "indispensable" as usual paled completely in the face of what was REALLY important: forcing Havana to reapply for its suspended OAS membership and threatening the OAS until it imposed conditions, and getting excited that Chile and Brazil had leaders of female persuasion
Honduras was like Vietnam for LBJ: an annoying intrusion that she wanted to have over and done with: she can thoughtlessly say "send them back" and call for more money for Hernandez's Military Police until people start asking her about it--no, PESTERING
get over it

(2,461 posts)I am taken back to that sad day when Caseres was murdered, and posted here that this was a bad day for Hillary. I was told that nobody cared, and who was this woman, and they were well-up on their international news and didn't know about it, so, so fuckin what, and I must be a RW plant.
Hmmm. That was abusive, Hillary supporters. I still have not forgiven you for that.

(14,177 posts)Also I am thinking that at least a few Bernie supporters should have shown up not to protest, just in solidarity maybe hang out in the back and let them do their thing. I wouldn't be in the back though, no freaking way, I have been protesting US policy in Central America for more than 20 years.

(47,803 posts)And if in interviews protesters say they are supporting Clinton?
And then Trump says -- "That just shows the low level of people who support Clinton, who is encouraging bad behavior"
And let's take it a step further, and Clinton defends the right of people to protect, and that freedom of speech and assembly is a basic American value.
Are you going to say..."Yes I guess Trump is right. it's all Clinton's fault. She appeals to a bad element."
