that pesky 1st Amendment...the founding fathers forgot to define some limitations...you know:

*loud voices/yelling

*cuss words

*'message' signs

*age-sensitivity to surrounding people

*arbitrary behavior standards

*inappropriate dress

...if this is all that some people can find to 'prove' some faux-point of...WHAT?

note: a person who seeks the highest office in the land, one who has a history she very proudly espouses (well, some of it, anyway), one who has been directly involved in some situations that, upon closer review/retrospect, may be cause for some great deal of critical comment, in whatever form,it would seem that the physics of action/reaction come into play...

"just don't raise your voices...it makes me uncomfortable..."

Doesn't mean you should. Or that you can do it without being criticized for it.

9. You do understand (at least I hope) that the First Amendment
Sat May 7, 2016, 04:35 PM
May 2016

only applies to government restrictions on speech. Speech between private individuals is not covered by the First Amendment. To take your 'examples'

*loud voices/yelling : Can very easily be disturbing the peace

*cuss words: Some jurisdictions still have laws against using them in public.

*'message' signs : Depends on where they're placed. On private property, probably OK (except if you're a member of an HOA). Public property, they may not be OK

*age-sensitivity to surrounding people: Not so much a legal issue as one of just good manners. Not very prevalent now.

*arbitrary behavior standards : Depends where. In a school, university, armed forces to name a a few arbitrary behavior standards are routinely enforced.

*inappropriate dress: See arbitrary behavior standards

and enforce any jurisdictional violations that have been committed...

the PTB NEVER care to have their authority, actions, etc. challenged in any way...

if you were old enough, and of a certain persuasion, you would understand what the Viet Nam protests were like...

sometimes you have to get loud, get angry, stand up for what you believe in...

manners don't always come into play...and the PTB are always the ones with the shields, the batons, the mace, the tasers, the GUNS...

fighting the oligarchy cannot merely be conducted by THEIR RULES...

and if sometimes that gets uncomfortable for you...well, you'll have that

some meaningful and some just assholish. The latter were usually those that railed about stuff like "PTB", "Oligarchs", etc.

you were probably 'participating' differently than some of us...

interesting that you think anyone 'railing' against the 'PTB" and the 'oligarchs' are assholes...

you were probably 1A and knew you weren't going...so I doubt your claims...

fuck 1A...i was 1A, too...did you get drafted?

or were you able to ride it out and just let everyone else join the fray?

patronize you?...you are probably going to post some shit about your commitment to the anti-war protest while saying it had nothing to do with the 'PTB' and the 'oligarchs"...

nice memories you have provided yourself...

So no, I sure as hell didn't "know I wasn't going". So much so that I already had put my papers in with yhe Navy. And no, neither I nor any of my friends and classmates (some of whom did go) ever talked about the PTB or the 'Oligarchs'. We were actually pissed at the people responsible, starting with LBJ.

And the rest of us are allowed to both regard them as and call them cockroaches for their behavior.

Being an asshole has consequences.
