Back in '08 at about this time Obama's lead against Hillary in pledged delegates was SMALLER than Clinton's lead over Bernie now. Back in '08 Hillary went on to win the last 8 states. How did that work out for her?
Hillary now ONLY needs to win 22% of the remaining delegates. There are NO winner take all states on the dem side. Who actually thinks Hillary can't get that 22% when she has gotten at least that much in EVERY SINGLE state she has LOST?

(36,926 posts)I hope they refuse. NO WAY should a 75 y/o, especially a hostile one, be next in line for the presidency.

(1,729 posts)I don't think he's qualified for the senate. Heck, I don't think he's qualified to be mayor. I'll be glad when he's off the stage.

(5,614 posts)The media has created another story and now its revealed truth, sort of like the 10 Commandments.
Anyway, why would a seasoned political veteran sign on to a doomed campaign?

(11,945 posts)There is no way Bernie would stoop to be on that ticket.

(47,803 posts)She fought like hell -- including saying bad things about Obama until the primaries were basically done, and she had no choice.

(46,179 posts)It doesn't matter how many delegates Clinton has or doesn't; Sanders is in it until the end, and that's great; my vote can be FOR something worth voting for.
It doesn't matter how many primary votes or delegates Clinton gets; she is a walking disaster as a GE candidate and the party and the nation is not going to come out of it well.
The rush to close down the positive energy Sanders has brought to the race is also a disaster for November.

(47,803 posts)It;'s been a disgusting attempt to twist something positive into something negative. It reminds me exactly of what the Bush administration and right wing and mainstream media did to anyone who was opposed to Bush and his War.
All of the memes about Berniebros, "white progressives," sexists for Sanders, Gun Nuts for sanders....Portraying all Sanders supporters as wild eyed bullies everything someone remotely connected acts up........Magnifying the usual criticisms that are common to every political campaign as Bernie's "angry diatribes."
A candidate shows up who captures and reflects the hopes and aspirations of millions of people -- and the hidden hopes of many million more -- and who hinestly addresses the core issues and offer solutions through People Power......
And too many Democrats who should be supportive of that (regardless of what candidate they choose to support) try to smash it down. It is a sad day.

(12,629 posts)"I'm not calling myself that (the presumptive nominee)," Clinton said. "I know there are some contests ahead and I respect Sen. Sanders and whatever choices he's making. And I have a lot of empathy about this, Anderson. You know, I ran to the very end in 2008."

(8,976 posts)Clinton was below 22% in four states (so far)-Vermont, Alaska, Idaho, and Utah. I guess for some people making shit up is good enough.
