(4,451 posts)If there is violence at the convention they will be arrested. THE END. Hillary won! Also, no one picks a VP who is threatening bullshit.
I can not believe Bernie does not know that the person with most votes and delegates is the one who sets the rules of the convention. It's rightfully Hillary's campaign who gets to pick the committee. It's been that way for years.

I haven't seen that much adoration since some folks discovered an image of Mother Teresa on a cinnamon bun.

(4,451 posts)Look at DU. They're giddy about causing a ruckus, as if to scare us. Shit! Go ahead! It will only make Bernie look unstable.

(135,425 posts)Hillary Clinton will win that vote--decisively.
Then we'll get down to business and hear from leading lights and future leaders--I am hoping the speeches will be barn burners.
Anyone demanding riots, protests and upset can kiss their decent speaking slot goodbye. They can get the slot right after the guy who announces the daily agenda. Hint: It ain't in prime time.

(47,803 posts)That is shamefully distorting what Sanders has said.
Claiming that he is calling for that -- or condoning abusive behavior by protestors -- is directly in the spirit of the gentleman above

(135,425 posts)I was responding to the comments in the OP--and I am saying that rioting is wrong, no matter who calls for it. I never said SANDERS said anything of the sort, but you "extrapolated" so that you could insult me.
In response to my very generic comments, you're calling me the guy who cracked heads in Chicago.
I'd say you've made it VERY clear how you play it.
You aren't covering yourself in glory. You should be ashamed of yourself. Is it any wonder that your team is losing?
Armstead
(47,803 posts)Both the Op and your post certainly sound like you are referring to Sanders.
If you explain how I have misinterpreted it,and if you were not referring to Sanders, I will apologize.
I do not think riots are good. Nor does Sanders.

(1,729 posts)Bye Bye, Berdie?
Actually, I noticed that they trucked out 90 year old Dick Van Dyke to shill for the Bern. Makes Bye Bye Berdie even more appropriate.

(1,729 posts)... since I as referring to the fact that Dick Van Dyke starred in the musical motion picture, Bye Bye Birdie. Did you mean George Sidney? George Sidney directed Bye Bye Birdie. George Clooney was two years old when it came out.
Chasstev365
(7,798 posts)By your logic, George Clooney is a shill for Hillary, merely because he supports her, right? PS: I know the movie and play well.

(135,425 posts)And here's what's weird--most Sanders supporters that I know, PERSONALLY, are not like these bullying, berating, angry, snarling insulting assholes that I see online. CAVEAT TO SANDERS SUPPORTERS WHO ARE NOT EXHIBITING THIS BEHAVIOR: If the shoe does not fit, please do not wear it--if you don't act like a jerk, I am not talking about YOU!!!
Most people I know have accepted reality, and are prepared to support the nominee, and understand that the nominee will be Hillary Clinton. They're disappointed that their guy didn't win, but they understand -- like most adults do -- what is at stake. They hope that Sanders will get an opportunity to shape the platform, and maybe get a cabinet gig if he wants one.

(22,976 posts)Ordinarily, I don't care for sports metaphors, but in this case...
Supporting Bernie until??? And should Hillary be the nominee, I'll vote for her without hesitation.
I will say that some of Bernie's more "enthusiastic" supporters are relying too much on GOP talking points, when that isn't necessary. Bernie stands (or falls) on his own principles and ideals. Leave HRC out of it!

(18,115 posts)Bernie hasn't said or done a thing to even suggest that.
And he isn't going to contest the nomination. He's made it pretty clear that he will contest the primary through the last vote, DC, in June 14.
He will take his positions to the floor to fight for the platform.

(6,409 posts)About the millions of people who want a change in our party, the millions of people who feel the need for candidates who are not Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and so on. Nobody cares. Screw those people. They can fall in line or fall off the cliff. We are the Democrats, and we will tell you what you need, what you want, what you are allowed to have. Now, shut up and vote the way we tell you!
