(68,553 posts)If Bernie goes to the convention and does not endorse before...his senate career is over...he will have no influence whatsoever. It will be after California or whenever the last primary is so he can say everyone got to vote.

(2,125 posts)I respect Sen Sanders and he will do the right thing for him, endorsing the Democratic nominee.
My respect for him will not change and he will not go "under the bus."
I will, however, vote my conscience, not someone else's.

(8,879 posts)It's mine and I'm incredibly protective of it. I'm incredibly stingy with it.
But Hillpeople wouldn't understand that I guess.

An endorsement by the defeated candidate, while expected, is immaterial to my personal choice. ..

(14,249 posts)who have made the choice to support Hillary.
Apparently, to those folks, Sanders is the only political or public figure who deserves to have their choice respected. For everyone else, regardless their history, bona fides, contributions, records or political views, the mere endorsement of Hillary automatcally taints them as a corporatist shill.

(68,553 posts)Seriously terrible people ...no progressive or liberal would vote for Trump, help Trump or not try to stop Trump. He is a bigot and would hurt so many people. They are not progressive and not Democrats either. If they truly cared about a revolution...they would understand the courts are so important this election with five justices near or over 80. The fact they don't care about who gets hurt or what kind of justices are put on SCOTUS leads me to believe they care about one guy Bernie Sanders. Thus, we will have to do without them. I think we can still win.

(12,958 posts)Will you guys continue to belittle, attack and insult Sanders and his supporters? Will you try to sell us her policies? What is going to happen?
Her supporters keep telling us it's over, there is no chance for him to win. Time to pack it in and get ready for the convention, etc.
If this is true, why does the belittling, attacking and insulting of Sanders and his supporters continue unabated? It is being done in a systematic way with multiple OPs on the same subject appearing at the same time. What is the end game of it? What is the point of it? It only drives people away from her. I don't get it.
Worst GOTV effort in political history, IMHO

That's a noise, (the Grinch said,) that I simply must hear!
Narrator: So he paused, And the Grinch put a hand to his ear.
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low.
Then it started to grow...
But this-- the sound wasn't sad.
Why, this sound sounded glad!

I would therefore predict that Trump would be targeted with the message for Americans who have long needed to wake up about a Drumpf candidacy.

(7,231 posts)1) she may not be the nominee (she certainly shouldn't be, considering her negative coattails)
2) Sanders may not endorse her.
And even if those two circumstances arise: this was never about Sanders, it was about his policies. So his supporters would look for a way to fight for those policies, with or without him. But preferably with.

(3,128 posts)Independents will probably vote for Stein or Trump. And about 20-30% may vote for Hillary or just stay home.
This is not about Bernie, which he keeps saying. It is about realigning the Party with its values and halting the influence of the .001%, Wall Street, for-profit prisons, Monsanto, etc. Making the Democratic Party, currently ironically named, actually reflect the meaning of "democratic."

JackRiddler
(24,979 posts)Sanders' supporters were a movement before the campaign and though they love him they don't rely on him for identification. Some will shrug, some will work for or against Clinton, but all will continue to fight for economic and social justice in 2017 and beyond. This kind of cult behavior you are attributing is actually the Clinton Camp, which exists only for Clinton, cannot give a genuine political reason why, and has no coherence otherwise.
