WOW, hard to believe THIS, but CNN is actually posting facts about Bill Clinton

and his republican ways, which have harmed the US & continue to harm US today.

This is so great to see in MSM!!! I realize this is "just" an opinion piece, but its type of op ed that is usually consigned to an online magazine. The more people wake up to the lasting damage by this most conservative president, the better. The blinders are coming off.

Why Sanders is a better bet against Trump
By Jonathan Tasini
CNN Op-Ed

...............Snip..................

That same time period coincides with the passage and implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the creation in 1995 of the World Trade Organization. Both were championed by Bill Clinton, and his Labor Secretary Robert Reich, and endorsed by both parties. These so-called "free trade" deals have one common thread: They set up rules benefiting corporate rights, particularly the protection of capital and patents, at the expense of wages for workers.

During the 1990s, President Clinton also urged many Democrats to support other corporate-friendly measures: deregulation of the financial industry (which arguably set the stage for the recent financial crisis), welfare reform (which ripped away a safety net for millions) and tax cuts for the wealthy that exacerbated the divide between rich and poor.

Enjoy getting your high cable bills every month? You can thank the Clinton administration's 1996 deregulation of telecommunications, which ushered in a wave of anti-consumer mergers. Indeed, the much-ballyhooed Clinton economic "miracle" was significantly built on a credit bubble, not robust or sustainable wage growth.

Today's rejoinders to criticism of these policies from many establishment Democrats underscore how tone deaf the party elites have become. They claim that things would be a lot worse if Republicans had been running the show. Without a doubt, I believe that to some extent, that is true. However, "Hey, vote for us because we're not as bad as the other guys" is a lackluster slogan — a wheezing plea that lacks credibility for many voters who have been ignored for decades.

1. & Hills has promised to put Bill in charge of trade agreements

Cuz, ya know, "he has so many good ideas!" What fresh hell is this!?!?!

Bill Clinton + corporate donors to the Clinton Family Foundation + control over international trade agreements!!!! A match made in One Percent Heaven!

http://latest.com/2016/05/hillary-plans-to-put-bill-in-charge-of-international-trade/

Hillary Clinton, who only very late in the game when she saw polling favored it, changed her positions on major international trade deals like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), says she plans to put hubby Bill in charge of international trade in her administration. It was Bill who originally rammed NAFTA through.

So sure, Bill in charge dovetails precisely with Hillary’s come-to-Jesus opposition to international trade agreements.

The issue is that most middle class voters, and nearly all blue collar workers, understand that agreements like NAFTA and the TPP do not help them at all. Those agreements allow foreign companies to export goods into the United States cheap enough to push American-made products aside, and allow American companies to export production to places like China, where low wages crush American jobs. Who does profit from those agreements? Why, the One Percent of course, the people who own companies and could care less where their products come from, as long as profits flow in.

But just because you feel Hillary Clinton has bad judgement on trade and is lying about her position on it doesn’t mean that she can’t put someone even worse behind that wheel. Clinton said that when it comes to trade, President Hillary Clinton would call on the first husband to broker deals and “be in charge.”

Hillary's Free Trade Fakeout!

While Hillary Clinton is probably lying about her newfound opposition to President Barack Obama’s trade deal, that doesn’t tell us much about her character. She is simply doing what every Democratic presidential nominee has done on trade for the past three decades: campaign one way, govern another.

Immediately after Clinton turned against the Trans-Pacific Partnership multinational trade agreement Wednesday, opponents and pundits pinned the flip-flop badge to her pantsuit lapel. A June review of her past 45 pro-TPP statements by CNN.com was quickly re-circulated on social media. But the most cutting reaction was the more-in-sadness-than-in-anger conclusion from Vox’s Ezra Klein that Clinton is being dishonest. “It’s hard to believe that Clinton really opposes the TPP deal,” he sighed. “As someone trying to understand Clinton’s likely governing philosophy, it’s unnerving.”

Awesome article, Divernan.

I don't know how people can stay mesmerized by the disingenuous media-enabled front of these fake Dems and not see through to what has actually happened over these past 3 decades.

Its just sickening.

Your OP has been up over half an hour and no sign of their fact free, linkless, citeless, snarky replies. Must be on a conference call with campaign headquarters!

Nothing would bring more joy to the Big Money Wall Street brokers, bankers and hedge fund owners/traders (lookin' at you Mr. Chelsea Clinton/Marc Mezvinsky!) then the prospect of Slick Willy Clinton "brokering deals" and "being in charge" of international trade agreements!

11. Isn't funny that CNN waited so long before saying something positive about Bernie?

I guess they figure he's not a threat to them any longer, so appearing even handed costs them nothing.

They're wrong.

14. And CNN should know better. Bernie would be trounced in the GE. They are just hopefully waiting.

The polls show this because Bernie is still in the race and a lot of his supporters hate Hillary but will not vote for Trump. And POCs will be out in record numbers to vote against Trump and perhaps turn a couple purple and red states blue.

The Democrats had lost the White House for 12 years...they had also lost Congress at various times...Bush was looking good for re-election...two things happened...Bill Clinton and Perot. Say what you want about Bill he had a surplus at the end of his presidency and no ground troops were sent to Yugoslavia..but he still managed to end that conflict...Bill Clinton was a good president for his times... and what would any of you know about this because when I read what you cut and paste, it becomes clear you have no understanding of what went on. Consider that without the pics Bill Clinton made to SCOTUS...ROE V WADE would be gone. You all seriously need to educate yourselves.
