George Zimmerman Is Auctioning Off the Gun He Used to Kill Trayvon Martin

George Zimmerman is auctioning off the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, in a homicide four years ago that rocked the nation and opened up a national debate over race that still goes on to this day.

Zimmerman, who was acquitted under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law in 2012, recently listed the firearm on GunBroker.com, where it was described as an “American Firearm Icon” that has been “featured in several publications and in current University text books.” According to the listing, the gun is still fully functional and can still shoot, despite the efforts of “B. Hussein Obama” and the Department of Justice to render it inoperable. (The listing was subsequently removed.)

Bidding for the Kel-Tec PF-9 9-mm firearm starts at $5,000, the proceeds of which will go to oppose “[Black Lives Matter] violence against Law Enforcement officers” and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, according to the listing. So far, no one has met that bid.

“I recently received it back from the Department of Justice,” Zimmerman told a local Florida television station, adding that he has received death threats since auctioning the gun. “What I’ve decided to do is not cower. I’m a free American. I can do what I want with my possessions.”

I'd say he probably got a letter from somebody saying that they would beat anybody's bid anyway, so here is a couple of million for it.
