(6,399 posts)Here's 2012:
Mitt Romney
1,482,440
53.76%
Barack Obama
1,223,796
44.38%
Obama LOST the state by 9 points. She's AHEAD by 2 right now.
So yes, that's VERY GOOD news.
edited to add, Obama's results were the SAME as Kerry's in 04:

(72 posts)For me to be impressed. That is not a good place to be this many months out. Hillary and positive trend lines over time have yet to be a thing.
Blue_Adept
(6,399 posts)Dems CONSISTENTLY lose this state by about ten points year after year.
Yet here we have a poll that has a small margin of error lead and you come back with that?
That's what I hate about the Democratic base. A bunch of fekking pessimists and doom and gloom types.
"It ain't my guy, so I'm gonna shit over everything no matter how good it might actually be."

(1,580 posts)Missouri enacted a new voter id law which threatens to disenfranchise 220,000 voters probably just because they knew it was a possibility.
Blue_Adept
(6,399 posts)I'm not discounting election fraud and all that comes with it.
Merely talking about the polling and comparisons to years past where we never saw this kind of competitiveness. And it's not because Hillary is a great candidate, it's because Trump is a terrible candidate.

(26,060 posts)this ignorant about MO? The con usually wins by 10%. The desperation for any (supposed) bad news for Hillary smells pretty freeking rancid.

(3,133 posts)hillary will be trounced by trump in MO.

(2,760 posts)but since neither one of them will be in the contest, it really doesn't matter

(99,710 posts)O'Malley could win it over Christie but since neither one of them will be in the contest, it really doesn't matter
Demsrule86
(68,556 posts)so no he would not win squat. When will you all face the fact, Sanders will not be the nominee.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)the primary. I swear the desperation of Bernie supporters is making some of you say the craziest freeking things.

(2,450 posts)I can tell you that this lovely state is going to go for Trump. I am 99.99% sure of it. The only way it might barely squeak blue is if Bernie is on the ticket.
If Missouri was geographically split north/south like it is culturally, it might be more interesting - still would have to be Bernie though.
StL, KC and surrounding counties may go blue but there's no way the state goes blue. Especially not with the Ozarks in play.
Demsrule86
(68,556 posts)and if he were, would lose big...Ohio, Florida and maybe even PA...they will swiftboat him even worse than Kerry. But he won't be the candidate and thus, we have a chance.
Rebkeh
(2,450 posts)Implausible? Maybe. But it's still possible with so many variables.
I agree he'd have a hard go of it in MO, but his odds are still better than hers.
firebrand80
(2,760 posts)we should just ask one person in each state what they think
