It would be easy to dismiss an hour-long film adaptation of Peter Schweizers book about the charitable-political-nonprofit complex of Bill and Hillary Clinton as nothing more than conservative propaganda. But sitting in a Manhattan screening room late Wednesday, it quickly became clear that conservatives werent the intended audience for Clinton Cash.
Environmentalists. Anti-nuke activists. Gay-rights advocates. Good-government folks. Theyre all going to find themselves increasingly uncomfortable over claims that the likely Democratic nominee, in the films words, takes cash from the darkest, worst corners of the world.
The 60-minute indictment of the Clintons will soon find its way to an awful lot of televisions ahead of Novembers elections. Based on a heavily researched book by the same name, Clinton Cash is careful in laying out a series of facts that are mostly true, though both the book and the movie sometimes draws connections and conclusions that arent as solid as their evidence.

(22,974 posts)The billionaires are rallying all of their forces behind Trump. Lest we forget, this is the era of Citizens United, in which there will be unlimited spending to promote Trump and attack Clinton. Due to Clinton's spotty record and flip-flopping, there is lots of ammunition for them. Of course, the mass media will ignore all of Trump's gigantic vices and weaknesses.

(1,258 posts)I don't know how accurate this is, given the source, but the fact that the Clintons have been taking money from Dictators and bad guys is easy enough to find on your own. Also, that a lot of the money has been going to dodgy "charities" like in Haiti is easy to read up on. This isn't a right wing plot created out of whole cloth. Just like Hillary using an unsecured home server to do classified work is real. And her trying to hide it from FOIA is real. And when C.R.E.W. did an FOIA request on her and it isn't a right wing group she could just say is persecuting her like always she had Brock take it over and silence it. That's real. And the fact that she printed out the emails to give to the FBI when the FBI knew some important emails were missing and some had content edited out, so she tampered with them. That's real too. And she used information from Sid Blumenthal who may have been getting information from a CIA leak and she didn't report - it is real. And none of it is a right wing plot.
The Clintons will bring down the Clintons.

But I could be wrong. I thought Iran Contra had traction. And just about anything Shrub, Cheney and Turd Blossom did.
So maybe she will get away with it. I hope not. I don't like corruption from any party.
