Renowned pollster J. Ann Selzer said Bernie Sanders "makes a very fair point" when he says he would do better in a general election against Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton.
Selzer, the president of Iowa-based public opinion research group Selzer & Company, said on Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect" on Tuesday that the polling backs Sanders' claims.
"I think he makes a very fair point, which is that in these polls, our polls have shown it as well, that when you do a head-to-head with Hillary Clinton versus the field or Bernie Sanders versus the field, Bernie Sanders' numbers are uniformly higher than Hillary Clinton," Selzer said. "It certainly tells us that this is an electorate that is in a mood for a change."
She added that she thought it would be interesting to look at whether Sanders supporters would be willing to vote for Trump over Clinton because "he's the change guy."
"But it makes sense that the mood of this electorate, which has been the strongest predictor of how these primaries have played out, have landed on Bernie Sanders and landed on Donald Trump, two people that a year ago we would have thought had no chance, that they represented such a different path, but people want a different path," Selzer said.

And, of course, she knows that current figures for how Bernie would do against Trump are completely PRE- the massive character assassination shellacking that would land on him the moment the right-wing billionaires knew who to unleash it on.

(47,073 posts)His unrealistic economic plan is #1. Blowing a massive hole in the budget. This would then explained by the fact he has always been too far left to be taken seriously. Old quotes, videos, pictures from when he was a more open lefty would then used. His hero Debs was a leader of the socialist party.
And then there is his voting record which hasn't been touched yet. No doubt some stuff many Americans would find interesting.
Thats enough really. But there are other weird things, things he wrote in his younger years. Enough to paint him as 'unique'. And what was he doing prior to being in elected office. A lot of years there with nothing to show.
