by Robert Reich:

'Democratic insiders are increasing their pressure on Bernie to bow out of the race. 3 reasons why they’re wrong:

1. They say he’s draining resources form Hillary’s campaign that should be used against Trump. But he’s continuing to mobilize and energize voters about the most important issue in this election – the increasing concentration of income, wealth, and political power at the top, and why it’s harming our economy and democracy. If the Democratic Party stands for anything, it should be to reverse this trend.

2. They say he doesn’t have a chance of winning the nomination or the election. But he’s on a roll. He’s won 18 primaries, including West Virginia this week and Indiana last week, and has a good chance of taking Oregon and Kentucky next week, and perhaps even California June 7. Independent voters are flocking to him, and independents will be the single largest force in the general election. Besides, a big reason why she’s got so many delegates is she’s rounded up so many Democratic-insider superdelegates.

3. They say he’s forcing Hillary to spend time in primary states rather in battlegrounds that will decide the general election. But isn’t this why we have primaries – so that voters can have a choice of primary candidates? As long as Bernie has any chance at all, it’s his right and obligation to fight on.'

but millions of Democratic supporters want him to stay in all the way to the convention. We deserve a voice in this primary despite the fact that we're not "insiders."

"Hierarchical" is not "democratic."

Thanks for the OP, ellen.

9. Someone posted a petition on MOVEON.ORG asking for Bernie to drop out

The petition has not been reviewed by MOVEON.ORG.

There is a procedure for visitors to "flag" this petition because they disagree with it. I hope anyone who believes in the ordinary primary process to go to MOVEON and flag the petition for removal.

Personally I don't want Bernie to drop out because I want his movement to effect the Democratic Party's future. Maybe Hillary will be the nominee, but I want the platform and party to reflect Bernie's values. Besides, the primary is not over until the vote is taken at the convention.

The announcement of the petition appeared over the weekend in the Hillary Group, which does not allow comment by Bernie supporters.

If MOVEON.ORG doesn't remove this petition after review, that will mean the end of any support of MOVEON.ORG.
