(24,979 posts)What has become of our political culture, with its noble roots in the gentle discursive arts of high-flown debate and tarring and feathering your opponents and running them out of town on a rail? Ah for the friendly civil days of Jacksonian democracy, the teargas of '68, the decency and maturity with which Burr and Hamilton settled their dispute.

I agree with you completely if by ugly you mean this is a mess of nonsensical arbitrary changing impossible rules and procedures rigged to keep the longstanding corrupt establishment in place; plus a whole boatload of bad-news violations on behalf of producing fraudulent results in said establishment's interest.

You would find anything any Bernie supporter says about anything offensive based on this reply. And you're the one who brought race into this, not me. So there's that.

(3,473 posts)second if there is updated information (but the first post seemed to cover the incident pretty well).
But the BS cheerleaders are posting it multiple times because BS has lost, the cheerleaders are angry, bitter and they're lashing out and they really don't have anything else other then topics like this to smear Secretary Clinton with by association.
(And as I posted the first time here, I do not condone the incident that occurred in the slightest)
cui bono
(19,926 posts)and MADE UP MEME about Bernie abusing his wife?
Or when they kept posting lies about him being racist/for white males only?
Or when they kept posting lies about him not actually fighting for civil rights? Or when they said it really didn't matter that he did?
Or when they wouldn't shut up about Susan Sarandon?
Please... your bias is showing. This in 1/1000 of anything the Hill fans have been doing. This is a REAL incident, not a talking point that is a complete lie. You even betray your bias by using "BS" vs "Secretary Clinton". So spare me the lectures, you don't show any objectivity what so ever and you are completely wrong.
Dismissing violent acts by a man against a woman as non-important and as a "sour grapes" thing is beyond ridiculous and despicable.

There are a lot of reasons for them to HATE Bernie, and they do indeed hate him as much as they hated other people who wanted to bring about change.

(2,096 posts)that we haven't heard the complete story because it just happened. I also agree with you that people need to wait until all the facts come out before jumping on this. I've never been a fan of pronouncing people guilty before we've heard both sides of the story and yes the police make mistakes all the time. Having said that I am a little disturbed by what else I think you are saying. I don't agree that if they said something about Clinton or her supporters that it would justify a violent response from him. Maybe you aren't saying that and I've just misunderstood your comment? I hope you will elaborate on this point.

(2,096 posts)Yeah, I agree. The description in the police report of what he said didn't make sense which is probably why he was arrested and not them.
I just ran across this piece that appears in Gawker that gives more details.

Personally, I couldn't give a shit who denounces what, but there is a huge double standard going on here. Bernie has to comment on fake violence, but Hillary gets a pass when it actually occurs.
GreatGazoo
(3,937 posts)which is why we see such a split between Sanders and Clinton supporters media habits. The Clintons have heavily leveraged the WaPo, Jonathan Capehart, and CNN.
I see progress when I look at how easily they destroyed Howard Dean with a phony scream meme, yet Obama beat the 'Hillary is inevitable' narrative and now they can't stop Sanders, although CNN is in full Swiftboat mode:

(6,007 posts)There was a whole line of police there but they didn't see any violence and no one was arrested.
But we DO have evidence of violence from Hillary supporters. We do have police arresting a Hillary supporter. And I did see the picture of that poor lady's face.
Isn't that just what the GOP handbook says to do? Blame your OPPONENTS for YOUR problems. Blame Bernie supporters for Hillary supporters misdoings, to throw haze on the whole thing, make their own bad behavior seem not so bad maybe.
