The Nevada Democratic Convention unmasked Sanders supporters ...

... as the petulant juvenile delinquents we expected they are.

They had a collective hissy fit, security was called, and they starting screeching about corruption.

Remember, this was the Nevada DEMOCRATIC Convention, and the Sanders supporters tried to tear it down because they couldn't have their way.

Really delusional, unhinged, and immature behavior.

There was palpable tension between the two camps throughout the day at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, with Clinton supporters barely outnumbering those supporting Sanders among the more than 3,400 conventiongoers. Still, a 33-person delegate lead was enough to sway the division of a dozen delegates who were up for grabs Saturday in her favor.

Who would win the majority of those delegates remained uncertain going into Saturday because Sanders was allotted more delegates to the state convention. In April, Sanders had turned out more of his supporters to the county conventions — even though Clinton had won the popular vote in the February caucuses — thus allowing him to send more delegates to the state convention.

Based on the presidential preference of conventiongoers, Clinton won seven delegates Saturday, while Sanders won five between two categories of delegates. Each category — at-large delegates and Pledged Leader and Party Official delegates — had an odd number of delegates, which means a narrow Clinton win gave her the delegate advantage in each category.

***

Several Sanders supporters, however, put together what they called a “minority report” of 64 Sanders supporters they believe were wrongly denied delegate status. According to state party representatives, six of those were eventually allowed as delegates, and the rest were denied delegate or alternate status because either they or their records could not be located or they were not registered Democrats by the May 1 deadline.

Eight Clinton supporters were denied delegate or alternate status for similar reasons, according to the state party.

Nevada's process for sending delegates to the national convention in Philadelphia is among the most complex. When the state caucused in late February, the fourth state on the calendar for the Democratic Party, the results of that process favored Hillary Clinton. Twenty-three of the 35 total bound delegates were given out proportionally in the state's four congressional districts, giving Clinton a delegate lead of 13 to 10. The results of the caucus suggested that after the state convention—which bound the state's seven at-large delegates and five delegates who are elected officials or party leaders—Clinton would end up with a 20-to-15 lead over Bernie Sanders, with Clinton winning one more delegate from the at-large pool (4-to-3) and one more from the party-leader pool (3-to-2) than Sanders.

How does the DNC get the state to change voter registrations? In a caucus state I could conceivably see something since it's a party run function, but in primary states the government of the state runs the primary.

Giving the benefit of the doubt, which you did not ask for, I would call it an unwillingness to bow down to bullies.

I do see what you are saying. Boxer just doesn't play that way. She can be provocative but it is normally in the face of opposition not in the best interest of progressives. She will not back down. Many view women who do that as being based only in an attempt to be provocative. It is a societal double standard. Boxer doesn't tolerate BS.

As I said, I do think I see what you are saying, I just think Boxer comes from a different cloth. Throughout her career there were a number of times where she could have been more tactful but chose the route of confrontation. It is one of the reasons she is so loved here at DU. We love strong progressive women.
