2016 Postmortem

I attended a political event, yesterday. It was attended by African-American Democrats ... supporters of Bernie and HRC.
We all had a good time. There was no rushing the dais, no calling of officials "bitches" or "whores", no death threats or calls to violence, no chair or bottle throwing.
Arizona is a crazy place ... But, it confirmed that Arizona Democrats are better than what occurred in Nevada.
Or, maybe, it's just ... well ... never-mind ...

I wonder why?

(31,849 posts)throwing bottles and chairs, or calling Super delegates issuing threatening to rip out tongues or harm to children/grand-children.
As with many things these days, both sides AREN'T equally culpable.

(3,431 posts)you accuse Bernie supporters to have done in NV?
I hear all about these acts on the internet, but am still
waiting for some proof. A lie, as you know, can travel
much faster than the truth.

(31,849 posts)Reports from attendees and journalists don't cotton. So what would stand as proof?

(1,947 posts)yet we see no video proof. Ever. I can't stand Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton. I do like George Clinton He would be the only one I would vote for. Yes it's a democratic page. I won't vote for Hillary Clinton if nominated. She don't need my votes, she wants gop money instead. Her choice.

(31,849 posts)You demand video proof of what multiple sources report; but, accept numerous anonymous "my brother-in-law's cousin's bar-tender's sister's softball coach said" (on the internet) claims as truth.
I don't know whether to have that or you as full of shit. Though I would prefer the former.

(31,849 posts)however, both, they and I recognize they are political outliers. The difference being, they don't pretend to be otherwise.

Another dirty little secret. We don't currently have a candidate that can be trusted by the AA community. None of you were there to explain to the other that you had found perfection and that time would end if it wasn't one person or the other. I'll probably get pounded for that one. I do think it sets the stage for group meetings like the one you mention. Over the last century minorities best hope has been to stick together. Often even when at odds with one and other. They have moved mountains.
I will say I have been more proud than ever to be a part of the party. BLM took over the conversation early. People have been standing up and fighting in every corner of the country. Over the last ten years the base of the party has transitioned. Throwing occasional bones to the base is no longer going to work. Women and minorities are working to make sure of that.
1Strong, so much of it is about equal representation. It isn't talked about often enough. I see massive changes in what our elected officials are going to look like over the next twenty years. We are witnessing the last desperate throes of the white male. Funny enough, we will continue to ensure they are treated as equals moving forward.
Then again, maybe you were just with better people.
