From Bernie Sanders Supporters, Death Threats Over Delegates
By ALAN RAPPEPORT
MAY 16, 2016
What Nevada shows is the kindling is there, Joe Trippi, a Democratic strategist, said of the energy within Mr. Sanderss base of support. The question is, what is he going to do with it?
The backlash against Ms. Lange in Nevada echoes what happened in Colorado last month when supporters of Mr. Trump bombarded Steve House, the chairman of the State Republican Party, with complaints of disenfranchisement. He received thousands of calls after his cellphone number was disseminated online.
Supporters of Mr. Sanders used similar tactics to exert pressure on Ms. Lange, who has received more than 1,000 calls since Saturday night and as many as three text messages per minute. The threats, which came from men and women from across the country, were haunting and personal.
Loved how you broke the system, one person wrote in a text message that said he or she knew where Ms. Langes grandchildren went to school. Prepare for hell. Calls wont stop.
Another person left a voice mail message saying he thought Ms. Lange should be hung in public execution for her actions.
Im scared for my family, Ms. Lange said. Scared for my kids.

Michael Briggs, a spokesman for Mr. Sanders, said the Vermont senator did not condone violence of any kind. However, he said the campaign was still determining whether it would challenge the Nevada results.
The senator believes that the Democratic Party all over the country would serve its own interests better if it were to figure out a way to welcome people who have been energized and excited by his campaign into the party, Mr. Briggs said. It would behoove the party to be more welcoming and engage those people.
The Democratic National Committee is hoping that what happened in Las Vegas stays there and that the prospect of Mr. Trumps winning the presidency brings the party together in time for the July convention.
Were confident that Democrats will be united and energized at our convention and throughout the general election, said Mark Paustenbach, a committee spokesman. Our candidates have each said they will work hard to make sure that Donald Trump and his dangerous and divisive policies never set foot in the Oval Office.

(41,694 posts)Sanders supporters are to be called violent and must be brought to heel.
the Hill crowd doesn't want to be distracted by any facts or evidence.

(12,689 posts)Not necessarily threats, but the whole thing about the system being broken and fraud, etc. There really is no reason for anyone to pretend to be a Sanders supporter and do something like this. Sanders people are angry and are going over the edge.

(10,493 posts)Worked to shut them down. Another HRC fan/male assaulted a Bernie supporter/female and was just arrested. I fully expect that anyone making death threats be investigated, like the police typically do when claims are brought to their attention.
However, that behavior doesn't negate the NVDem Chair's behavior Saturday, or the more reasonable backlash it caused.
And BTW, the campaign has already said they don't support it. Not sure where you've been, but it's even posted in the article above. You can't issue an individual statement for every Tom, Tracy and Tammy out there that falls off the deep end. If that's the case, there are a lot of apologies HRCs campaign should be doling out as well. Am I right?

(15,805 posts)Who wants to be associated with anyone who belongs to the Bernie group where violence is encouraged, and blackmail and extortion are used as negotiating tactics, and terrorist threats are made against everyone connected to Hillary and even there families. They should just make a complete break, stop pretending to be Democrats. Hey... Are Trump's fascist followers paid too?
