http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/17/politics/democrat-bernie-sanders-revolt/index.html
But new audio obtained by CNN shows a senior Sanders aide -- on the eve of the Nevada convention -- encouraging the senator's supporters try to "take over" the convention, change party rules and continue the "revolution" that Sanders has long campaigned on.
"You should not leave," Joan Kato, the national delegates director, told Sanders supporters in a meeting last week at the Rumor Boutique Hotel. "I'm going to repeat that, unless you are told by someone from the campaign ... that you can leave, you should not leave."

I think many of his supporters want a replay of the late 1960s.Some of Bernie's older supporters , like Bernie, want to reminisce and in their nostalgic fervor and try and relive the past, while the Millennials wanna-be hippies can get themselves arrested in a modern day 1968 Democratic Convention and brag to their children about how brave they were.
Probably make a video much like this before they go:

(9,527 posts)Telling delegates to stay in itself isn't nefarious. In fact it's the smart thing to do given how delegates shift based on how many show up. I'd need the specific tone, words and context to make any useful conclusion about if it's the Sanders campaign trying to do something out of bounds.
Demsrule86
(71,030 posts)And Bernie is a disgrace who deserves to lose. I thought for some time now he was attempting to blow up the election and hand Trump the win...now we see the truth coming out...spite and malice...on Bernies part.

Any time you make TRUMP look like the sane one is a problem.
I realize the Sanders campaign is trying to crawl out of the well of despair so they dont have to put the lotion on its skin before it gets the hose again.

(34,845 posts)I don't see the Sanders supporters as being all that 'threatening' despite what one or two yahoos have said. Much of it has been blown out of proportion, imo.
On the other hand, the Sanders supporters claiming they are being treated like children does a disservice to their chosen candidate. Neither side is more victimized than the others. Bad eggs from both. Big deal, move on.

People need to calm down, step back, take a breath and think for a moment. CNN is making hay trying to get us to fight for their cameras. That's what they do, it's how they make their money. A lot of people take cable commentary as literal news. The reality is some of the twits they let speak neither know, nor care about facts or reality.

(761 posts)And nothing like a coordinated response from the Powers that Be with one of Hill's corporate BFF's supplying the megaphone. They're scared and they damn well should be. "Be civil while I shit on you, and then join us" isn't going to be tolerated. And it sure as hell isn't a winning strategy.
Back in January I said, as did many Bernie supporters at the time, that I was not going to vote based on fear any longer. Here we are in mid-May and all the Democratic establishment has for a message is "unify or else we will have Trump - it's all on you." No, it's not. Bernie supporters like me were very clear from the very beginning that we were looking for a candidate to vote FOR. What we saw in Nevada was frustration meeting its last straw.
Sure, tell me you don't need me to win in November. And express it with as much smugness as you can muster. Truth is, you do need me and voters like me. You can tell yourself we have no where else to go, but this time you are wrong. If you can't convince me to vote for your candidate, how are you going to convince independents? I'm lowing hanging fruit. Bernie is right, you could have invited his supporters in, it would have been uncomfortable for you, but it would have been the correct thing for the long term health of the party. Then I remember why the DLC/Third Way/Clinton wing of the party came into being in the 80's - to crush progressives, to repudiate New Deal policies, to curry favor from the economic elite. Well, curry on!
