(21,328 posts)Instead of pretending Hillary Clinton is a crypto-fascist, ever actually checked out her policy positions?
AgerolanAmerican
(1,000 posts)Have you ever actually checked out her record of destroying entire nations and crafting proposals to allow corporations to supersede our laws?

(55,981 posts)and I don't believe her at that. Where does she stand today on the TPP? I will tell you, she doesn't like the wording. I don't think it would take much "rewording" to get her approval. She loved the concept before the campaign started and now she doesn't like the wording. Not close on that one.
How about fracking? Does anyone know where she stands after her 5,000 word explanation of when and where she would be for it or against it on tuesdays and every other friday? She loved it before the campaign. Miles apart on that one.
Medical marijuana. One would think that would be an easy one. Nope, she will deny it to those that need it because "it needs more study". Really? I don't see any empathy there. Not close on this issue.
How about tough drug laws and stiff sentencing that she has always supported? Fill those Prisions For Profits and get those Super-Preditors off the streets and render them ineligible to vote. Read my sig line. Nope not close.
Min wage? She wants to keep min wages to below a living wage. Not close there.
Not close on the Iraq War support. On the Patriot Act support. On support of domestic spying.
There is a large chasm in our Party with the Progressives on one side supporting the 99% and the non-progressives supporting the 1%.

(1,446 posts)he never laid out plans to implement any of his causes. It made his candidacy seem like a poorly planned, fringe movement, which turned many people off.

(388 posts)College and daycare costs more than ever before.
Women DO NOT have paid family leave.
Health care costs more than ever before.
Seniors are living in poverty, while Obama and Hillary are against increasing the cap on social security taxes.
The democratic parts has become the party of the rich. Obama is not using the bully pulpit, and neither has Hillary to champion the working class.
Bernie brought all of these issues to the table, Hillary is funded by the corporate class, and the rich billionaire class.

(13,877 posts)into it because no one else would challenge her and the Democrats wanted their Coronation.
She had truly done her time and put lots of effort into the Party. The mistake, IMO, was not allowing anyone else in to challenge her. It created a vacuum for we Liberals and somehow Bernie became the one. I believe the fact that he Was Not a registered Democrat was the only reason she had any challenge.
At least he has years of governing and a clean record, comparatively speaking, to fall back on. Obama had nearly no experience...he'd won one Senate race? and he did OK. Certainly he got elected.

(9,853 posts)DNC and Democratic establishment.
By treating Hillary Clinton as an incumbent and presumed nominee, other Democrats did not enter the competition for POTUS.
This was compounded by the facts that many inside the Democratic party had a pre-existing poor opinion of Clinton and that Clinton is a poster child for neo-liberalism.
Bernie Sanders stepped up into a major vacuum and offered a refreshing look to antiwar liberals.

(13,877 posts)That, to me, says it all. Hell, we wouldn't even need more taxes if we built fewer tanks and airplanes and bombs. Someday, that will sink in...or some group will make sure it sinks in...to our Check-writing Congress Critters.
And don't get me started on abandoning our Veterans.

(388 posts)but i didn't want the hillary supporters to accuse me of being a unicorn loving pony.

(1,701 posts)Ponies and unicorns, the horror! Almost as bad as voting for Bernie! Now that I have the vapors, I need to lie down, while clutching my pearls, of course.

(1,128 posts)Now tell me how that plays in a GE---when was the last time someone who promised to raise taxes was elected POTUS

(7,603 posts)we don't have a plan, we have a slogan. Thanks Bernie.
Qutzupalotl
(15,824 posts)that lifting the cap is a much better plan than means testing.
Means testing is part of the Republican strategy to kill Social Security. Once someone is forced to pay into a system from which they can never benefit, they have standing to sue. Better to let everyone pay in and draw out rather than gamble the whole system in court.
Progressive dog

(5,113 posts)If hillary is the nominee will you vote for her.
the only 2 people that have a chance to win this elections are the nominees of the dems and the gop.
that gives me the following options
1. vote for the dem nominee
2. stay home
3. vote for a third party as a protest vote
#2 and #3 make a trump win more likely. That I will never do
therefore I will vote for whoever is teh democratic nominee. period
