2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan anyone explain why Bernie gets more enthusiastic response
When he slams Hillary and the Democratic powers that be than when he tries to go after Trump?
At least it seemed like it in California tonight
Is anyone expecting the BoB's to fall in line after the convention

(6,282 posts)Policies, not personality, is what is fueling Bernie. We care about the platform, not just (empty) rhetoric.
At least, that is how I decide to vote.

Surprise!
You'll see.
Prepare to be amazed at how much can be done in 20 years of negotiations

(4,667 posts)is going to cost us. Plus for many their entire future.
Being able to have a family and children. Being able to afford to drive a car, rent an apartment or eat.
being able to get medicine for your illness or suffering and dying alone.
Thats whats at stake here.
Hillary is hiding a lot more than anybody else here realizes.
Read the link you passed over a bit higher, read pages 278 and 279 -
they are talking about us. We're being asked to pay for the crime that Hillary's friends have been profiting big off of for 20 years.
With our futures.

(3,014 posts)It's about trying. We're not afraid of failure. We're afraid of not trying.
But one things for sure, if someone tells me they can't do something, I can 100% assure you...they won't do it.

(4,667 posts)in exchange for something that will also hurt you like getting rid of generic drugs that make your reflux medicione cost $20/month instead of $20/pill. In short, under them we are screwed in every possible way. Hillary is really our nation's enemy. There is no other way to put it. Millions of dollars per peron over your lifetime. Young people won even have a shot a jobs, they will go to foreigner who will be paid low wages. Corrupt regimes both here and there will triumph by shipping the middle class away. But for us tere will be nowhere to go. They will have succeeded in making the whole planet their dominion. People who get sick wont be able to afford care unless they are shipped to developing countries or cared for by robots. Literally.
All to preserve the tiered murder system. Buy or die. How many have already died while they kept our healthcare system in crisis while they negotiated for 20 years.
Thats a crime against humanity, human experimentation is a crime against humanity. Especially when you already know it isnt going to work.

(188 posts)I too have never before heard one of his rallies
Tonight I was listening on KfI radio in LA, they were carrying it live, and Conway was commenting on the meaning of BoB
I had never heard of that before either
Sounds like Philly might be a real party

Baobab
(4,667 posts)the thing they dont tell us is that they gave away our right to have affordable healthcare- or have been TRYING to give it away, for 20 years now. Keeping it in limbo so they could have their crisis to justify bringing in cheap workers or shipping he sick offshore. A fake crisis.
While people died all that time.
Aren't they slick?

Some will "fall in line", of course, but the BoB movement is growing and many won't.

(4,667 posts)Divide and conquer.. But the fact is,
Hillary lost my support when I realized she was totally lying about health care.
And learning about that led me to the fact that the US is fighting a global war against public higher education.

(1,495 posts)democrats need to be ripped from their decadent nests and see the suffering the average american goes through on a daily basis before they will beginning to change things for the better. A Trump presidency might help with that.

(4,667 posts)Lying through your teeth to your own country, while pretending to be a good person, Deliberately denying people healthcare that works so you can spend 20 years in negotiations to pass your treaty to lock away the whole worlds public services down for corporations forever - while half assedly pretending to be trying out your known-broken economics theories which its proven repeatedly - making it cystal clear they don't work, while around two million innocent people die?
How about that?
That is a crime against humanity!

It's a longstanding DU tradition.
If you see a poster with a name like ViolentRevolutionaryMarxist or the SmashTheBourgeoisie, you're probably looking at a conservative. If he's also got the Che avatar, you can bet the farm on it.

I just know the acoustics in that particular place suck... and can be deceiving. They were particularly bad during the Dem Party State Convention, and the setup was similar.

(4,667 posts)Before you go after me, you MUST read the four papers linked in my sig. 1-4 That ill show you that its both healthcare and other ser-vices (everything you cannot drop on your foot) that are involved. 70% of all jobs.
Then PM me and lets talk, I guarantee anybody that you will see what I mean in 15 minutes and that its the biggest story of the decade, bigger than Watergate.
And several Administrations and both parties are in on it.
They are trying to scam what must be 3/4 of the whole world. It involves a massive trade of jobs for markets overseas. (Where they must feel the growth will be, not here. But they are wrong, automation is occurring much faster than they thought it would 20 years ago when it started.)
And lots of people know about it because they have told me so. The media are just terrified to tell the country.
Top NGOs - NGOs whose work you read every day (or at least I do) have told me I'm right, but that they are afraid they would lose their corporate funding.
I have good notes of these kinds of conversations. Ive spoken with hundreds of people about this, including many experts and not a single one has said I was wrong.
Something this large needs to be open and transparent. That has also been said repeatedly by experts. Otherwise we are living in a bad dream of deception and that dream is not a democracy.
Their scheme to trade our jobs away for corporate rights to markets, things they will use to eliminate life saving generic drugs and so on, is wrong.
We cannot vote for the wife of the man who signed us into the W#T#O.
That will be seen as an endorsement of this scheme - one we cannot give it, not just because we don't know about it, because it should be obvious to any scientist (economics and politicians invariably fail to grok this) that given the exponentially accelerating growth in labor-saving technology it is the wrong model for the future, a future where jobs and peoples incomes are rapidly vanishing, and if they have no stellar education they will be destitute within two decades.
So the corporate model for the future that denies people inexpensive things because they are poor, is one which will cost our planet dearly and likely lead to war and its self-destruction.
Its literally a make or break issue for humanity.
There, I said it. This is important, don't ignore it.
I am totally serious
loyalsister
(13,390 posts)despite the fact that a lot of people are really suffering. We hear about 3% unemployment in my area while there is no mention of the 24% poverty level.
People feel betrayed and reasonably so. As much of a step forward Obamacare is, there are still people who are working more than 1 job and cannot afford healthcare. They don't have a lot hope for how the lives of their kids will progress. Bernie talks about wanting to address those issues. Hillary is effectively saying "I don't think it's worth trying to make your lives significantly better, but I will fight for you."
They have no expectations that Trump will be on their side, but Hillary is supposed to be.
