(30,058 posts)Wall Street, it would destroy his occupy base. All the complaining about Wall Street would have to go elsewhere. His net worth needs to include their investments also.

(61,599 posts)I've never known a Democratic candidate for president to refuse to release their tax returns. It's weird.

Boy those Sanderses really had us all fooled! Talk about the long con! Wow, 32 years of set up ...Amendment king...the Civil Rights arrests... voting against Iraq War....they really worked this thing. But surely there is something in their tax filing that will blow their cover....
How did I do ?

(41,692 posts)But don't you agree he should release his tax returns?
Kind of clears up the whole what's he hiding thing.

(3,937 posts)I leave the "should" part up to the Sanderses. They have beaten all expectations in this race so far. Likely releasing every piece of paper they have ever filled out from dog license to parking tickets would not stop this desperate fishing expedition -- so why play?
Personally, I support most of the goals in Sanders' platform so it isn't about the person. That said, I find Sanders to be sincere and his history shows a lifelong commitment, one might say obsession, with fighting injustice. Nothing in a $200K tax return will change that.
To the OP -- to qualify for the top 1% of income in the US, a person must make MORE than $428,000 annually.
What do you allege is in their tax returns that would be a game changer?

And I bet they didn't pay taxes on it!
Good thing we have some working class folks running for office like Hillary.
