I really really hope that security will be airtight with so many death threats flying around.

(3,473 posts)If NJ doesn't clinch it for Secretary Clinton ... California will.
Believing anything else is #BernieMath that has no basis in reality. You'll notice that Superdelegates are abandoning BS and changing to Secretary Clinton ... don't you?
joshcryer
(62,242 posts)The networks will call it when NJ closes. Just like they did with Obama when he had the majority of delegates (supers included). CA will be a footnote.

(3,473 posts)but being that all the Democratic Primaries are proportional delegation ... it would be difficult to clinch it early. And NOBODY said she would clinch it by Super Tuesday ... it would have been MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE, being that not enough delegates would have been awarded. But go ahead and live in whatever fantasy world you want to, it's easier that way for you.

(1,947 posts)we started to notice that awhile ago, but then Hillary sought out the Bush, Rubio, and Cruz donors and confirmed it for us. She can't be trusted. She told us of her unwiligness to fight for minimum wage increases, and her unwillingness to fight for single payer. We know she and you guys have little fight in you. But hey, it's her turn.
Warren Stupidity
(48,181 posts)Hopefully a massive militarized police presence and strictly controlled free speech zones far from the convention will reduce any assembly of citizens to a minor distraction that the media can entirely ignore.
Yet another reason why I am a sensible centrist for Clinton.

These pieces of human garbage are lying to my family members and I have to spend an inordinate amount of time straightening them out, which is easy in terms of argument, difficult in terms of undoing the brainwashing of the libertarian wingnuts pretending to be liberals. If there is violence, the wingnut libertarians are the one's promoting it. Sadly, people under 30 are susceptible to this propaganda.

(45,319 posts)All the endless aggressive, goading posts have one single objective, to cause division and unrest in the Party.
This week a rich, famous Hillary supporting man got arrested for assaulting a woman. So who is actually being violent, getting arrested and running about suggesting there will be more of the same in Philly? Hillary supporters, that's who.
I think what you are doing is repulsive and harmful to the Party.

(15,805 posts)You're trying to combine one man who acted stupidly on his own volition, with the behavior of Sanders official convention delegates... no dice. You're complaining because your man was out maneuvered and out played by the better candidate, deal with it.
It was always Bernie's race to win or loose on his own merits. If he's not performing as advertised, don't blame Hillary's success for his shortcomings. Stop whining that you're being picked on for betting on the wrong horse, and go pound on the guy who failed to live up to your expectations.

(15,805 posts)was like an open invitation to bring that violent behavior to the convention floor. Sanders campaign has stalled in 2nd place limbo, and he's becoming increasingly bitter and vindictive. His angry shock troops have nothing to lose by creating chaos and disrupting the nominating proceedings. They've certainly had plenty of practice interrupting Trump's speeches and intimidating Hillary's fans, like the crowds who were waiting in line to see her at that college in LA.

Do you really think they will let the democratic convention in Philly escape their little "revolution" with all the media coverage there?
Democrats have got to realize NOW that Sanders is not running against Trump and the republicans...he is running against the democratic party!

(1,166 posts)convention. Have you watched the hours and hours of video documentation of that convention? Did you see violence occur? Do you know who made a death threat? If you do, could you provide the evidence of who that person was? This is an extreme hardball strategy I see being played out by the Hillary Clinton campaign right now. I have family members who were going to vote for Clinton in California until they saw the news reports featuring Roberta Gustav Lange. They are totally disgusted as am I.

(15,805 posts)Its huge! The convention venue is a big sports arena that seats over 20K, so security police couldn't possibly cover every nook and cranny. Sanders has already said he going there to fight, and his troops will carry out his wishes. Stay safe if you go, or at least have a fast exit plan if civil order breaks down.

Is that too much to ask?
How about trying to include those who'd like to be part of your political party rather than changing your primary tactics and trying to attract Republicans for fuck's sake!!!!!
That would, it seems to me, be the smart move. But I haven't been able to count on the Democratic Party to be smart since at least the days of Ronald Reagan, who apparently frightened them so much they keep wetting their bed.
Oh, and firing Debbie Wasserman Schultz would be a great strategic move. I know it would keep her from finishing her plans decorating Hillary's float, but that wasn't what holding a national political convention was supposed to be about anyway.
