Related: About this forumMika Brzezinski Calls For Debbie Wasserman Schultz to RESIGN
Mika Brzezinski the liberal half of the MSNBC Morning Joe duo spoke out Wednesday morning to call for the resignation of Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz for her unfair treatment of the Bernie Sanders campaign.
This has been very poorly handled from the start, Mika Brzezinski said. It has been unfair and they havent taken him seriously, and it starts quite frankly with the person we just heard speaking. It just does. You know that.
Can I ask this? Why would Bernie Sanders politely get in line for the Democratic Party? asked her co-host Joe Scarborough.
Because Hillary Clintons people said so, Brzezinski said sarcastically.
I sure wouldnt. If the party I was a member of treated me like this, rigged the debate process Id say go straight to hell, Im running as an independent, he concluded.
She should step down, Brzezinski put in She should step down.

(39,909 posts)...where she was Chair if the DNC's "Red to Blue" program where her job was to convert Red States to Blue States. No only did she lose the House and Senate, turned Blue States RED, lost Governorships, and Democratic seats in State Houses....she actually REFUSED to ENDORSE Democrats running for vulnerable seats in her own home state (Florida) in 2008.
From this position, she Failed Upwards and was promoted to Head the DNC.
There is only one reason for this. Her bosses LIKE the job she is doing.
She will Fail Upwards again after her stint at the DNC is over. If her bosses were unhappy with her "performance", she would have been fired long ago.
She is doing the job she was hired to do, and doing it well.
THAT is where the "Centrist" Leadership of the Democratic Party is at today.

(9,205 posts)DWS was not only Obama's choice, but she will go down in history as paving the way for women in politics.
Mika has openly hated the Clintons for a long time (probably goes back to her father's freud with Bill Clinton). She is a mediocre host who spends more time bantering with Joe over nonsense. She rarely has any unique insight and is clearly biased.
Despite the bash and trash from Morning Joke, Hillary has won the nomination!! Go Hillary...and thank you DWS!

(9,205 posts)Everyone who died ate a banana so bananas cause death!!! DWS didn't create ALEC, gerrymander districts for the GOP, or pour money into state elections like the Kochs. She happened to be DNC Chair chosen by Obama. Most of that started well before DWS took over.
Who knows? Maybe Gabby Giffords would be the Democratic candidate if we send Marty back to make things different.
Blame DWS for things she actually had control of, but not everything that happens by correlation. DWS is an advocate for women politicians. She was put there to get a woman elected President. Her plan is working!

"The Democratic party would be better off without her leadership as DNC Chair. Ms. Wasserman Schultz oversaw 2014 Midterm losses for Democrats which gave Republicans their largest majority in Congress since World War II, and has faced criticism for refusing to help Democratic challengers to congressional seats in Florida because she is friends with the Republican incumbents.

While Chair of the DNC Red to Blue Program, her job was to turn RED states into Blue States, but she refused to endorse DEMOCRATS in her own Red State of Florida because that would upset my Republican friends!!!!
In 2008 Debbie Wasserman Schultz refused to endorse these 3 Democrats
who had won their Primaries and had a chance to win Republican seats:
Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair Joe Garcia
Former Hialeah Democratic Mayor Raul Martinez
Democratic businesswoman Annette Taddeo
All three had won their local Democratic Primaries, and were challenging Hard Core Republican incumbents with whom Wasserman-Schultz had become cozy.
Not only did the head of the DCCC Red to Blue Program REFUSE to endorse these Democratic challengers,
but she appeared in person at at least one (possibly more) Campaign/Fundraiser for their Republican opponents.
FL-18, FL-21, FL-25: Wasserman Schultz Wants Dem Challengers to Lose
by: James L.

<snip>
Sensing a shift in the political climate of the traditionally solid-GOP turf of the Miami area, Democrats have lined up three strong challengers -- Miami-Dade Democratic Party chair Joe Garcia, former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez, and businesswoman Annette Taddeo to take on Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, respectively.
While there is an enormous sense of excitement and optimism surrounding these candidacies, some Democratic lawmakers, including Florida Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Kendrick Meek, are all too eager to kneecap these Democratic challengers right out of the starting gate in the spirit of "comity" and "bipartisan cooperation" with their Republican colleagues:
But as three Miami Democrats look to unseat three of her South Florida Republican colleagues, Wasserman Schultz is staying on the sidelines. So is Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Miami Democrat and loyal ally to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
This time around, Wasserman Schultz and Meek say their relationships with the Republican incumbents, Reps. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother Mario, and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, leave them little choice but to sit out the three races.
"At the end of the day, we need a member who isn't going to pull any punches, who isn't going to be hesitant," Wasserman Schultz said.
Now, you'd expect this kind of bullshit from a backbencher like Alcee Hastings, but you wouldn't expect this kind of behavior from the co-chair of the DCCC's Red to Blue program, which is the position that Wasserman Schultz currently holds. Apparently, Debbie did not get Rahm's memo about doing whatever it takes to win:
The national party, enthusiastic about the three Democratic challengers, has not yet selected Red to Blue participants. But Wasserman Schultz has already told the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that if any of the three make the cut, another Democrat should be assigned to the race.
http://www.swingstateproject.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1537
The bloggers also are furious with Rep. Kendrick B. Meek (D-Fla.), who similarly refuses to endorse the Democratic challengers to the three Cuban American Republicans.
They are calling for Wasserman Schultz to step down from her leadership role at the DCCC. And they're not letting up, even after one Florida liberal blogger reported that the congresswoman seemed "frustrated" by the blogs and had asked to "please help get them off my back."
This prompted even harsher reaction from perhaps the most influential of the progressive political bloggers, Markos Moulitsas, a.k.a. Kos, founder of Daily Kos, who wrote on his blog Wednesday: "On so many fronts, the Republicans are standing in the way of progress, on Iraq, SCHIP, health care, fiscal responsibility, corruption, civil liberties, and so on. Those three south Florida Republicans are part of that problem. And she's (Wasserman-Schultz) going to be 'frustrated' that people demand she do her job?"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/03/19/AR2008031903410_3.html
Here are Kos comments on the Wasserman-Schultz betrayal of the Democratic Party:

A lot of time has passed since 2008, but I don't take these kinds of betrayals lightly. Now I find that DWS has been PROMOTED from Chair of the Red to Blue Program
to Chair of the DNC. She must be making the "Centrist" Democratic Leadership VERY HAPPY if they are rewarding THIS kind of Party Treason.

(9,205 posts)You do realize that Miami is much more complicated that Demo vs Repub...oh well, it was likely that Gore lost the Presidency on the handling of Elian Gonzalez! Obama also likely cost Democrats many, many seats on his immigration policies alone. DWS knows this. Meeks and DWS were RIGHT!
None of that has anything to do with support for Hillary - and it's TIME for the Democrats to elect a woman President!! DWS is doing it!
More complicated than than Democrat vs Republican????
" Meeks and DWS were RIGHT!" (for not supporting Democrats for vulnerable Republican seats!!!?????)
You CAN'T be serious.
Are YOU a Democrat?
Do you wail & cry because "What could we Dooooo. We didn't have the votes."
or
"We can't get anything passed because The Republicans are obstructing everything!!!"
NOTHING is more important than Democrat vs Republican,
and a "Democrat" who refuses to endorse other Democrats doesn't belong in our Party,
much less the CHAIR of the DNC!!!.... who presided over the most crushing defeat of Democrats in the Mid-Term elections in a century.
and then The Woman thing again.
You DO realize that Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and "Mean Jean" Schmidt are all women?
If gender is the dominating quality that is motivating YOUR decision about WHO should be elected President, then we really don't have much to talk about. I'm an Issues & Policy person.

(23 posts)Her job has been to make sure that Hillary is the nominee. This whole primary has been a pharse. Votes for Hillary are votes for the corrupt corporate power structure that has payed Hillary to be an agent of their greedy interests. After last night the Sanders' campaign is operating on a different mandate not decided by super delegates in a rigged and corrupt primary that assures corporate America's pre-selected and determined nominee of the Democratic Party. The Sanders' campaign now operates under the mandate of people who want to see real change and not the corrupt mechanism of the Democratic Party establishment.

and says that the Trump supporters don't care about anything the the news media reports on him, so that means what? That they shouldn't bother reporting anything on him, I guess. She doesn't ever have anything intelligent to contribute to the conversation, she just lets Joe and Mark Halprin, and woman who was in charge of grooming Sarah Palin in 2008, (I'm drawing a blank on her name, now) and then complains that Hillary can't produce the enthusiasm at her rallies that Bernie can. She is such a hypocrit after all those 'Know your Value" bullshit seminars she hawked to gullible women, when she herself if a fraud. When she tried to "go all Know your value on MSNBC" they ignored her. Joe S. then gave her part of his salary to make her feel better. I guess Joe S. felt bad about the amount of money he was making compared to her, when he could barely pull his behind out of bed to show up each morning, when all he has to do each day is keep from putting his foot in his mouth. I guess she can't speak up to him, because he might take it back.
