http://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-get-control-get-out-race-461195So, Senator Sanders, either get control of what is becoming your increasingly unhinged cult or get out of the race. Whatever respect sane liberals had for you is rapidly dwindling, and the damage being inflicted on your reputation may be unfixable. If you cant even manage the vicious thugs who act in your name, you cant be trusted to run a convenience store, much less the country.
Damn.

(10,565 posts)that a lot of his followers are constantly outraged about something. It's been that way since day one. Bernie is the anger and envy merchant-like an outboard motor in a cesspool.

That may be true: it could be that nothing happens. But I wouldn't want to take that risk.

(2,902 posts)they'll just search and replace the names and republish this to hurt Trump. It's sad that it is applicable to both. Of course, both are late-comers to their party. They didn't want to be in the party until they needed us so they could use us. Both are like that.

Or, where you going to make that point CrowCityDem?

(24,979 posts)They don't publish (or at any rate distribute) a magazine any more and they no longer report news. It's just a collection of editorials and "analysis" by self-important blowhards. Blogs, in other words. Clickbait. "Upworthy."

(28,270 posts)Of course it won't hurt Sanders surrogates like Rosario Dawson, 1% Susan Sarandon or Dr. Paul Song when Trump's fascists take over, they won the lottery of life long ago.
But it will be a living hell for the rest of us and much of the world as well no doubt.
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)He's a bigoted blowhard who hates immigrants and she's a corporate-owned war hawk who'll have us bombing Iran.
In fact, Trump may be less effective at blowing up the country because most of the Democrats and half the Republicans in Congress probably will work to block any hair-brained legislation he favors, but if Hillary tries to effectively kill Social Security by means-testing it, all the Third Way Democrats and Republicans will be behind her 100 percent.

(29,692 posts)When Bernie Sanders launched his presidential campaign, he seemed to be the kind of candidate who would inspire voters from the liberal blocs of the Democratic Party, push the party leftward and influence the future direction of politicseither as the nominee or as a force for change. But Sanders has increasingly signaled that he is in this race for Sanders, and day after day shows himself to be a whining crybaby with little interest in a broader movement. His viciousand often ridiculousattacks on the party whenever he doesnt win a contest have inspired a level of ignorant fanaticism among a large swath of his supporters that is becoming more akin to what might be seen at an out-of-control rally for Donald Trump. Signs are emerging that the Sanders campaign is transmogrifying into the type of movement through which tyrants are born.

(24,544 posts)Every freaking word of it, TRUTH starting with the headline "Get Control or GET OUT." Lord have mercy!!!
Why is there no organized effort by his supporters, led by Sanders, to start changing the direction of the Democrats by snagging local and state-level positions in the party? Why are Sanders and his revolutionaries doing so little to find like-minded people who could run for office down-ballotwithout such people sitting in Congress, the Vermont senators proposals could never be transformed into policy. Why is Sanders continuing to bilk his delusional supporters of money, despite the impossibility of his winning the nomination, rather than directing it to candidates who support his ideals? Why do so many of his supporters scream fraud! when he loses a state and demand changes to the rules that they proclaim would have led him to victory? (Hey, folks: The way you change rules is by gaining positions in the party, not by screaming and name-calling.)
Questions of the freaking century. But after Sanders has shown his ass so spectacularly, I sincerely doubt if there are hardly any people in politics or thinking about going into politics that would openly admit to sharing his ideals about anything.
Truth!
TRUTH!!!!
That was one HELL of a read. Good Lord, that was spectacular. K& Fucking Rec'd.
