2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThere are only a few more weeks left, why not let CA vote?
We are almost at the end of the primary process. Less than one month. Why the pressure to drop out now?

(154,021 posts)I concluded that the core of the party does not want progressives to do anything more than vote, and even that is to be questioned. It is stupid, but hey... whatever, it is not my party... but it is my country.

(12,689 posts)No one is being stopped from voting. I filled out my absentee ballot and I'm looking forward to California giving Clinton the remaining delegates she needs to close this out formally.

Bernie isn't even close.
The only super delegate flips since Bernard decided to go against his oh-so-solid convictions about SDs and the system, decided to flipped over to Hillary. The SD count is now further in favor of Hillary than it was before he started his Campaign o' Wooing the super delegates.
HC - 525, BS - 39
Thus far the death threats, rape threats , wishes for public hangings or imprisonment, and threats to cut out tongues haven't swayed any SDs so far as I know.

(19,808 posts)Would you say that if the situation was reversed. Clinton was down and behind?
I say let everyone vote- do it by the rules I had to follow to vote.
BE a democrat, register by the right DAY, I dont care if its January of 2010.
Noone is saying drop out, except some of Sanders more devoted followers on this forum to HRC.

(8,168 posts)I see no issue - plenty of time to decimate "small hands" after the primary ends.

(32,609 posts)you and BS want to change the rules of one of the two major parties even though you are not a member of either party.
I am a registered long time Dem and don't want Independents, Republicans, and not registered people to vote in our primary.

(20,582 posts)with the daily lies and filthy accusations from day one - sexism, racism, whatever meme Brock trotted out to be spread far and wide. So much hatred and condescension, dismissal and insults for simply challenging the chosen candidate, and now they're worried that all those they wanted brought to heel may not go crawling back. jmho, but when you treat good people like crap, they don't forget.

Retrograde
(10,136 posts)I send my ballot in yesterday. There's a lot more to decide than a Democratic presidential candidate. Going by the yard signs around here, the biggest race is for state assembly, followed by a county proposition. One Sanders window sign, no Clinton ones.

(146,288 posts)Nobody has to let people vote. On June 7, the primary will be held there. Both names will be on the ballot. It is not within anyone's power to prevent Californians from voting.
