"Registered voters prefer McCain to Obama by 47% to 42%" (May 4, 2008)

May 4, 2008

PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup Poll Daily tracking shows Barack Obama is the current choice of 49% of Democratic voters nationwide for the party's presidential nomination, while 45% back Hillary Clinton.

.....

Clinton has been running better versus John McCain than Obama in the Gallup tracking general election trial heats for the last four days, though McCain has the edge over each Democrat. Registered voters currently prefer McCain to Clinton by 46%-45% and McCain to Obama by 47%-42%.

I imagine that many here were urging Obama to withdraw based upon Hillary's stronger polling numbers against McCain?

to this election? He was far less known than she is now. What are they going to find out about her that they already don't know and is any new information going to necessarily be good for her candidacy? The same could be said for Trump. The two most unpopular major party nominees going head to head. Wonderful.

7. That was pre-Palin, when McCain the 'war hero' was liked by many independents, BHO was unknown.

.

HRC has over a 90% identifiability rate, where most in this country know her and have solidified their thoughts.

BHO was still unknown by most of the country and had racial issues to fight with.

This analogy fails miserably.
