Tonight MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell has new poll info. from today, WBUR and Fox that include personal characteristics for the candidates. He said the Fox poll does historically conform to the findings of other polls.
- Politico, 'Trump Leads Clinton in New Fox News Poll', May 18, 2016.
Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday evening.
Trump leads Clinton 45 percent to 42 percent, within the polls 3-point margin of error. In the same poll conducted in April, Clinton led by 7 points 48 percent to 41 percent.
Even so, neither Trump nor Clinton scored very high when voters were asked about certain personal characteristics.
Asked whether Trump is honest and trustworthy, 40 percent of registered voters surveyed said he is, while 57 percent said he is not. Asked the same of Clinton, 31 percent said she is and 66 percent said she is not.
Democratic challenger Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, leads Trump 46 percent to 42 percent. Sanders led Trump by 14 points in the April poll 53 percent to 39 percent.
..As far as whether they think Trump has strong moral values, 37 percent said they thought the phrase encapsulated Trump, while 58 percent disagreed. For Clinton, 40 percent said she has strong moral values, while 57 percent said that would not be an apt description.
More than seven in 10 71 percent said the phrase will say anything to get elected describes Clinton, while 65 percent said the same of Trump.
Clinton holds double-digit advantages among women (50 percent to 36 percent), African Americans (90 percent to 7 percent), Latinos (62 percent to 23 percent) and those under the age of 35 (46 percent to 35 percent).
Trump, meanwhile, has the upper hand among independent voters (46 percent to 30 percent), men (55 percent to 33 percent), white voters (55 percent to 31 percent), those without a college degree (45 percent to 40 percent), and varying majorities of voters 35 and older.

'WBUR Poll Finds It'd Be a Close Clinton-Trump Contest in New Hampshire', May 18, 2016. WBUR Radio, Boston's NPR News Station.
NASHUA, N.H. If the presidential election were held today between the apparent Republican nominee, Donald Trump, and the Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, the outcome would be very close. Thats according to a new WBUR poll (topline, crosstabs) of likely New Hampshire voters.
According to the survey, Clinton leads Trump 44 percent to 42 percent among likely Granite State voters, with about 7 percent still undecided.
The new WBUR poll is consistent with several recent surveys from around the country that suggest the general election race would be competitive.
The reason this race is so close is that both Clinton and Trump are exceptionally unpopular across New Hampshire.
It found that just 35 percent of New Hampshire voters have a positive view of Clinton; only 33 percent feel that way about Trump.
And whats particularly striking: Both candidates are viewed unfavorably by 58 percent of likely New Hampshire voters.
So lots more people have a negative impression about them than a positive impression, Koczela said.
By contrast, Democrat Bernie Sanders numbers are just the opposite: 55 percent view him favorably, while 34 percent view him unfavorably.
And according to the poll, if Sanders were the Democratic nominee, hed beat Trump today decisively in New Hampshire by 16 points, 54-38.
This is an argument that Sanders continues to make in his campaign: Poll after poll suggest that hed fare far better against Trump than Clinton.
Koczela says a big reason for this is the gender gap between Trump and Clinton pretty much disappears with Sanders.
Where Clinton was trailing by 17 points among men, Sanders and Trump are essentially even, Koczela said. Sanders does a bit better among women, but the big difference is that the gap among men just disappears. con't.

(21,056 posts)--- that it is becoming shockingly possible that someone as idiotic, offensive and vulgar as drumpf could very well win (just how few took W seriously) due to voter discontent over the 2 options. She needs Independent voters and most of Bernie's voters. Sadly, some of her supporters (see how easy it is to not blame ALL of her supporters?) think it's funny to see Bernie's backers "foaming at the mouth" and to call them Sandernistas as the newsweek-dnc article posted in GD-P does, and how it blows off the anger over the rich screwing the nation's poor and working class the past 35 years with "blah blah blah" between each complaint. Oh that'll unite us.....
