Hillary and Bernie Need to Come Together

Not their campaign employees, surrogates, online warriors or rank-and-file supporters, but the two people themselves. Bernie should tell her exactly what he wants, and Hillary should (for the most part) give it to him. Bernie needs to come out and tell people to stop with the threats, and Hillary needs to tell the too-clever-by-half career party hacks to stop trying to "help" her and show a bit of graciousness.

If I were in charge, I would have just given Bernie the extra delegate in NV. Seriously, who the hell cares? Do you want to win the battle of one meaningless delegate at the expense of losing the war in November?

Most of the party divide has been pretty benign, IMO, up until recently. I think most of the responsibility lies with Hillary. She's going to be in the ballot in the fall, it's in her best interest to show some leadership and put this shit to bed.

"take it to the convention"...sanders and his people dont care about rules...and not rely on threats and intimidation for any chance to force super delegates ......and I am afraid many of us suspected that sanders is in fact a very weak leader are being proved right everyday.....even if he wants to, I don't see how he controls the mob he has created and we will witness the most chaotic convention since 1968.....unless we have some miracles happen. I don't hold my breath for miracles.

This is her party, she has to take the leadership role. This isn't about which side is "right," this is about doing what needs to be done.

They need to be lead by wiser and more mature heads who only have their best interests at heart.

involve both candidates and Bernie is not showing any indication that he is willing to do so.

From the NY Times:

While Mr. Sanders says he does not want Mr. Trump to win in November, his advisers and allies say he is willing to do some harm to Mrs. Clinton in the shorter term if it means he can capture a majority of the 475 pledged delegates at stake in California and arrive at the Philadelphia convention with maximum political power.

Tad Devine, a senior adviser to Mr. Sanders, said the campaign did not think its attacks would help Mr. Trump in the long run, but added that the senator’s team was “not thinking about” the possibility that they could help derail Mrs. Clinton from becoming the first woman elected president.

Bernie has to realize by now that there is no path to nomination for him, even if he won California (current polls show Hillary leading by nearly 10 points), but it won't stop him from taking Hillary down with him. He is clearly not a team player.

but she could assert significant influence if she chose to do so.

Coming together would take willingness on Bernie's side, but Hillary needs to take the leadership role. Pointing the finger at Bernie and telling him what he "should do" isn't going to solve the problem.

Nevada was not about the one or two delegates. It was about whether a grassroots group would be allowed to use the Democratic Party as a vehicle for their movement. Would they be allowed to practice democracy inside the Democratic Party? Or would they be blocked? And we got our answer.

I'm not saying they should come together and end the primary, but they need to find away to stop the nastiness.
