(5,761 posts)Is there a ballot someplace I can vote for him?
I'm sorry I was under the impression we were talking about candidates who are running in the 2016 race.
Meanwhile......today on the NYT's front page. Hmmm I don't see Obama listed.

(5,737 posts)He said during the last debate that he would raise taxes. Reagan said he wouldn't, but he did raise taxes several times. But all anybody heard from Mondale was that he would raise their taxes.

(24,853 posts)"The superdelegates have not always prevailed, however. In the Democratic primary phase of the 2004 election, Howard Dean acquired an early lead in delegate counts by obtaining the support of a number of superdelegates before even the first primaries were held."
Are there any other demands you'd like to make?

(24,853 posts)The point is that in the past, superdelegates almost unanimously supported Walter Mondale. Not good judgment.
Before the primaries even started, superdelegates were lining up behind Howard Dean. Good judgment? Your call.

(24,853 posts)The superdelegates were created to protect the party elite from the Proles (by way of an insurgent candidacy supported by a majority of voters).
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)just because of early polls. I am sorry, but that whole idea is fucking stupid, and smacks of desperation. I am sorry you are buying the fairy tales that something like that could or even should happen..... but the path for SBS to win has closed.

(5,275 posts)convention mayhem by awarding the opponent a plum cabinet position, even though said opponent could not have won the nomination without swaying the super-delegates to her side (which was attempted but unsuccessful right up to the convention):
1) Barack Obama
