The continued Democratic primary race appears to be sapping some of Clinton’s strength. She’s losing 20 percent of Bernie Sanders’ supporters to Trump, while winning only 11 percent of leaned Republicans who backed someone other than Trump for their party’s nomination.

There are some Sanders supporters who hate Hillary with a passion. That is their right... Let me repeat it, that is their right...But it has to chafe their asses that a racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-semitic, anti-Muslim, xenophobic, and ultra-nationalist candidate like Trump is depending on them to beat her.

even Trump. Hating people is a bad habit and never solves anything. There is a tendency of people on both sides of this issue to equate "disagree with" as "hate".

Trump may think he can get Sanders' voters, but it is unlikely he will. If he wins it wil be thanks to heavy right-wing turnout by people who do hate all things Clinton (the racist, xenophobic, etc types you mention), independents who don't like HRC and non-votes from liberals who HRC is doing everything she can to alienate.

"Bernie or Bust" has two meaning: One ascribed by Bernie Supporters, "Bernie or nothing"; and the other ascribed by HRC supporters and their ilk, "Bernie or we vote for Trump".

I'll stick with how I, and other Bernie supporters, have defined the issue.

And before you chime in, refusing to vote for HRC is NOT a vote for Trump. Voting for Trump is a vote for Trump. If Trump wins it will be because the Democratic Party picked a weak candidate.

They are two sides of the same coin driven by greed and power and are every thing Sanders and his supporters are against.

Pay for play, special favors for rich friends, protectionism of the wealthy, corporate favortism, exploitation of workers and American citizens.

Trump and Clinton have both profited from war and death. Trump and Clinton have both taken money from and have close relationships with murderous totalitarian dictators.

Neither one of them care about the people of this country. They are both narcissitic and nihilistic and only care about money and power and destroying anyone and anything and use any means to justify their ends.

Hillary is a solid liberal-she may not be as pure as the Purity Party demands but to say she and Trump are the same is just not true. It may be your opinion that Hillary doesn't care about this country but I believe she cares deeply for this country and has served it. To call Hillary a narcissist is ridiculous and unfounded. You have virtually no proof for most of your opinions. When Bernie was asked in the last debate to name one instance of corruption he could not name one after railing for a year about it. Why would he even say that (And for the record less than he believes will vote for him)

There is anger in the country, at the political establishment. He is running a classic outsider campaign at this point. Hell he has from the beginning. Why do you think he got that nomination? (Mind you, people here did not take him seriously, and still don't)

But while I expect the number of Bernie supporters to be lower than he expects, (much lower actually) you know which group I expect to cross in large numbers? After all they did it for Bush and Reagan... conservadems History is indeed prologue

What I do expect is more than a few Bernie supporter to sit it out. I also expect them to leave politics in large swaths, especially the young ones. Myself I could care less at this point, The way the system has revealed itself. I am back at home, in Mexico, where who I vote for is determined by who counts the votes.

Congrats, because I am not alone, The system is increasingly seen as not legitimate.

Oh and as to those conservadems, I know a few. They will vote for Clinton in June to stop the commie, realize average age is 65 in that crowd, and they will vote for Trump in November, They make no bones about it. They cannot stand her. They remember the 1990s... and for at least one, it is a morality thing.

Remarkably, Clinton is only running evenly with Trump among 18- to 29-year-olds –- a key Sanders support group that’s looking ever-more resistant to her nomination. In March, Clinton led Trump among under-30s by 39 percentage points, 64-25 percent. Today they split 45-42 percent. It’s a group Barack Obama won by 23 points in 2012, and one that Clinton needs back.

to suggest that big percentages of Sanders supporters are going to vote for Trump, or that big percentages of Sanders supporters on DU have said they would vote for Trump?

If not, then you are promoting false propaganda. Be proud.

The continued Democratic primary race appears to be sapping some of Clinton’s strength. She’s losing 20 percent of Bernie Sanders’ supporters to Trump, while winning only 11 percent of leaned Republicans who backed someone other than Trump for their party’s nomination.

that she's never been a strong candidate for the GE to begin with, as some of us have said all along.

Sapping "her" strength.

We've always known that Sanders has stronger crossover support, including support from outside the party that Clinton won't get. It isn't just beginning to happen, lol.
