It seems pretty clear the oligarchy controls the Democratic Party so what next?

Seems to me the history of this started with Bill when he courted Wall Street because all the Unions who were traditionally the Democratic Party's financers had been badly diminished by the Reagan Administration. He even put fuckin Robert Rubin of Goldman Sac's in his cabinet. Bill is smart and he made a deal with the devil because he needed lots of money to win and since then the DNC has just been an arm of the Wall Street power brokers. That was a huge shift in the Democratic Party at that moment because it went from Unions who look out for regular people putting the pressure on Dems to Wall Street who could care fucking less about the working class.

So here we have Sanders who is actually just talking about the things Democrats use to talk about back in the 70's getting rolled over by leaders of what is basically just a moderate Republican party now and a mainstream press that is mostly owned by Time Warner, Hillary's 7th biggest donor. What I find interesting is how well Sanders did in states like West Virginia that use to be filled with blue collar democrats who have abandoned the Dems because they no longer look out for them. All those Reagan Democrats would love to vote Dem again for someone who is actually going to look out for them. Those are the Republican's and Independents Sanders is bringing back to the party.

So since the Democratic Party has been hijacked by Wall Street what the hell do we do? We are between a rock and a hard place because if Trump gets in and puts in conservative justices etc. things could really get screwed up. At least Hillary will work for some liberal causes (the ones Wall Street allows). To be honest, I feel at a loss but I do know Bernie's Revolution needs to be built upon and maybe eventually we can take the Democratic Party back to it's traditional roots.

If Bernie loses which we have to come to terms with is almost certain barring something like the email issue becoming an indictment; what is the path? With the Democratic Party no longer what it was founded upon how to we either fix it or establish something that is more like what it use to be and not let someone absolutely insane into office from the other side?

4. And how many independents (Democrats once upon a time) were left out of voting?

Sanders wins in states where everyone can vote but if you are happy with the party of Wall Street and being a moderate Republican then good for you. It's not the party of my Father.

6. I don't know the number, but doubtful as many as were left out of the caucuses.

Hillary has won both more closed and more open primaries. Bernie's big advantage comes from caucus states, where it is very difficult for people to participate.

But the rules are the rules, they weren't secret, and it's very easy to register as a Democrat, it costs nothing and there are no requirements other then being a registered voter.

With marketing like that, it's not surprising that the "Bern" didn't take hold.

9. From a Liberal/Progressive point-of-view

the Party only has value if it champions Liberal and Progressive ideals. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CLEARLY DOES NOT DO THIS.

The question that Liberals and Progressives must ask themselves is: why do I support a Party that does not support me?

I will NOT vote for Clinton. I will NOT vote for our state's superdelegates who apparently know better than the 73% of our state's Democratic voters who want Bernie. I will let my superdelegates know my position (though I have no illusions that they care in the least what I think), and urge them to quickly switch to Bernie (certainly not Joe) when the recommendation to indict comes down from the FBI.

and challenge the "Democratic National Committee" and currently Democratic party leadership as illegitimate because of direct actions and because of corporatist anti-welfare policies that have drifted so far to the right over the past 30 years as to render the essential platform of the Democratic party meaningless.

We don't leave the party and become "Independents." We reconstitute and vote in leadership of the REAL legitimate Democratic Party and let the people decide.

I believe they did something like this at the start of the French Revolution. Just declare the other body illegitimate and yours the legitimate one by the same name and see who shows up where.
