Establishment Collectively Stunned To See Citizens Reject Rigged Democratic Primary

Establishment Collectively Stunned To See Citizens Reject Rigged Democratic Primary

byKevin Gosztola

Democratic Party leaders accuse Bernie Sanders and his presidential campaign of inciting “violence” among supporters by promoting allegations that the primary process is rigged in favor of his opponent, Hillary Clinton. Surrogates for Clinton and pundits, who favor Clinton, have ramped up their attacks on Sanders for maintaining a robust campaign, even though the last votes have yet to be cast in the primary.

Much of the pressure to rein in supporters stems from a belief that Sanders no longer has a right to run in the primary, and that he is now a spoiler candidate in the race. The pressure has ramped up in the aftermath of the chaos at the Nevada State Democratic Party’s convention, which was largely provoked by how it was handled by chairwoman Roberta Lange.

For example, The New York Times published a report with the incendiary headline, “Bernie Sanders, Eyeing Convention, Willing to Harm Hillary Clinton in the Homestretch.” It suggests Sanders intends to inflict a “heavy blow” on Clinton in California and “wrest the nomination from her,” despite the reality that she has not clinched the nomination.

Clinton surrogates, pro-Clinton pundits, and cable news television hosts (with the exception of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski) contend there is no evidence that the primary is rigged against Sanders. Senator Barbara Boxer said on CNN, “To his supporters who are grousing about the fact that everything is rigged, it’s not rigged. You know, we’ve had elections. Hillary has more votes. And Hillary has more delegates, not even counting superdelegates.” Tamron Hall, an MSNBC host, haplessly mixed sports metaphors and said, “This is the game of football, and now you want to change it to soccer. The rules have been in place,” and, “You’re in the last inning. What about the votes that Hillary Clinton earned?”

The worst possible candidate the Democratic Party could choose, who got an early stranglehold on the Democratic Party apparatus, using her enormous slush fund, from, among other disgusting sources, the sheiks of araby, and is now trying to shove herself down our throats on behalf of those who put a half a billion dollars in her personal pockets for "speeches" and billions more into her campaign and into the Clinton Foundation?

Bernies Sanders is a "spoiler" of THE most corrupt candidate for president in the history of the United States (and that's saying something).

Much of the pressure (from the rich and powerful) to rein in supporters stems from a belief that Sanders no longer has a right to run in the primary, and that he is now a spoiler candidate in the race. --from the OP (my parenthesis)

The thing is, Sanders supporters, we have cast a "chair" at what looked like the impenetrable and scary Dark Tower Barad-dûr, and have found out, to our utter amazement, that we hit the keystone brick that held up the entire edifice. The disguised forces of greed, slavery and war are exposed to view! There they tremble with rage at our chair! Spoil it we did! And take it we will, to restore fairness and happiness to our land, and to rescue Mother Earth from the sods who would despoil her! Forward, Hobbits, into the ruins of Barad-dûr!

they have been promised a lot of service jobs for a long time, if they could just be the winning low bidders.

However, repeated negotiations have collapsed, most recently in Nairobi.

(In case you are wondering what that has to do with us, how else do you think globalist Hillary is going to work the miracles that shes promised.

Everything changed in 1995 when we joined the WTO.

Neoliberalism would liken a New Deal style stimulus program that only gave jobs to Americans as a theft from multinational corporations.

They believe (or pretend to) that if Sanders weren't talking about the rigged system, we wouldn't have noticed it on our own.

I've been complaining about the Clinton campaign/coronation since November, I just didn't realize how much of the Democratic Party establishment was on board with disenfranchising our vote.

So what IMO makes Secretary Clinton's campaign radically new? The elimination of voter input into the nomination process. If Secretary Clinton succeeds, why will any future Democratic nominee attempt to get to know the average voter? Why listen to ordinary Democrats (or Americans for that matter) when you only have to amass money (enough to outspend your opponents) use the momentum of monetary success to get support of leaders before the primary even starts, and reduce the average voter to easily stereotyped blocks (Women, Blacks, LGBT, Latinos, blue collar, “hard working rural Whites”, etc.) with leaders that can be impressed by your cash raising acumen.

What makes Senator Sanders campaign traditional? Rather than running away from traditional liberal values, he embraces them, and has all his life. Senator Sanders listens to average voters, even when the cameras are off, and even when he’s not running for office (Brunch with Bernie is a call-in segment on the Thom Hartmann radio show and has been for years). Because of his real commitment to his values, Senator Sanders doesn’t have to worry about contradicting himself in videos. In short, working to earn your votes matters more than cash.

I see it this way: if Senator Sanders wins the nomination, we can see a return to what used to be core Democratic Party principles. Helping the people in our country who need it most yet receive the least. A realization that our justice system is biased and dangerous unless you’re economically insulated. The acceptance that our wars damage average Americans who see no benefit from that “racket”(hats off to General Butler).

If Secretary Clinton wins, then we ordinary voters are further marginalized. In future primaries we can cast our vote for the sole remaining candidate who has successfully out-raised their competition. After all, you wouldn’t want to throw your vote away, right?

From November 25, 2015 - one of my very few OP's. If Sanders talked about it back then, then the clinton poutrage squad was unbelievably silent about it.

they would say... it's not as if they believe what they are saying, they say it for a reason, they have a purpose, it's all a game to them.

Same thing with Hillary supporters. They will say anything if they think it will result in them winning the end game. They don't necessarily believe what they say, but they'll say it no matter how obviously wrong it is because if it means is is smearing the perceived 'enemy' then it's okay with them. Look at how they keep repeating things that are long discredited. They pushed the race smear, they tried the sexist smear, they tried to erase Bernie from history, they pretended he mistreated his wife, they made up chairs being thrown... it doesn't matter how outlandish it is, they'll say it. It's just team sports to them. Honesty, integrity, ethics, principles and issues are mere nuisances to them. They are the right wing of the Democratic Party and they sure act like it.

That is not all we are rejecting ----- we are sick and tired of the DLC/Third Way/ New Democrat philosophy. It has failed and we want no more of it. Enough.

And we have been sick of it for a long time. At first we showed it by either dropping out of the party or not voting. That should have been clear when the 2014 elections went so down hill.

It should have been clear by how eager we were to elect President Obama because we understood his "hope and change" message to mean the end of the DLC/Third Way/New Democrat ways. That we did not get what we expected should not have fooled the establishment regarding what we wanted.

They cannot blame Bernie for what they have been ignoring since the 2007 crash.

And they need to understand very clearly that we do have options: drop out again, build a new party, get Bernie to run in a third party for this election, work with the movement to bring about change. But what they should know by now is that we are no longer blinded. We know what is going on.

like they are, in procurement. Otherwise our businesses (Such as firms owned by Generation Y and Z ers) will never be the low bidders and will never get jobs, being undercut by foreign firms. (Under Clintonian globalization programme) See the post I recently made to Good Reads on procurement preferences. Basically carve outs for women and minority owned businesses are endangered under Clinonian globalization procedures, because they are an internal matter between the disadvantaged group and the government and increase the cost of procurement. In services liberalisation, cost reduction is the top priority, the rationale for privatizing the public sector under GPA is cost reduction. Currently those jobs are (typically) held by nationals of our own country and are subject to rules giving various historically disadvantaged groups preferences in hiring. (women, minorities) Under globalization, those preferences may vanish because they would impede the long promised economic integration of the less developed countries (LDCs).

However, there is still work to be done as several groups remain unhelped- There are HDIs who have never received the benefits of these preferences still un-helped.

Non-marital children within the US are a heavily disadvantaged class that is growing. They have been historically disadvantaged due to economic discrimination.

Generation Y are also historically disadvantaged, so are gay people.

Should helping them be short-circuited by Clinton's globalization's rush to help the less developing countries too?
