Donald Trump pledges to eliminate gun-free zones

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by mcar (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

Donald Trump pledges to eliminate gun-free zones
The Irish Times

Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump assured gun owners on Friday he would protect their constitutional right to bear arms and eliminate gun-free zones if elected, accusing Democrat Hillary Clinton of wanting to weaken gun rights.

Mr Trump’s remarks at the NRA’s national convention in Louisville, Kentucky, were not a surprise, but they could solidify his status among conservatives who see protecting the US Constitution’s Second Amendment as a top priority.

Where is the candidate that will vow to eliminate "free speech" zones? How is it possible that 26% of the populace has made "gun rights" such a huge issue while we're dropping the ball on what matters?

in restaurants and malls and movie theaters and grocery stores. And that anyone who leaves the premises because they see a gun is, well, a stoopid baby. So Trump is tapping into quite a diverse group of gun enthusiasts, IMO.

I've seen a gun on someone's hip a total of one times, and that person was an off-duty police officer. I assume I don't see more guns in public places because my neighbors are not assholes.

Guns are just another way to settle an argument down here, it seems to me. And then there's the guy who was shot and killed at the movies because he was texting his little girl.

I have seen guns at the grocery store, and I just pay for what I already have in my cart, and leave.

My point is that Trump is going to appeal to a wider audience than Hillary is, IMO and all that. He will be running a bit to the left of her, looks like.

nothing about guns

I was on a jury where someone got shunned for mentioning 3rd party. I know this is a Dem site and I am grateful for it. AND there is Trump stuff all the time. So repubs are not 3rd party, and they are not Dem. I am always confused. Why is Trump OK on Dem site but not 3rd party? This is a conversation site. OK done.
