Eugene Robinson: Bernie's "crowds are almost as big as Trump's and perhaps more enthusiastic." Huh?

Almost as big. ????!!!!!

Perhaps more enthusiastic !!!!????

What in the world made you reach those conclusions Eugene? Perhaps you've been paying too much uncritical attention to Trump's bombastic claims and propaganda blasts!

In Utah over 14,000 people turned out to hear Obama. Fewer than 1,000 showed up at a Trump rally. And Utah is one of the most conservative states in the nation!

Pulling ONE picture from ONE Trump rally isn't a fair comparison, and denying that Trump isn;t getting large turnout isn't realistic.

Trump is particularly toxic in Utah and among Mormons, I think he came in third of fourth place in that primary. Seems like a bad place to start drawing comparisons.

...I must ask, WHY do Sanders keep fixating on rally size as such an important measure? It clearly hasn't helped with turnout.

If I'm going to work to deny Trump the election, it's smart to be aware of what his strengths are. One of the weaknesses of the campaigning by the Sanders supporters was, in my opinion, their unwillingness to acknowledge that Democrats actually wanted to vote for Clinton, and campaigning accordingly, rather than dismissing her strengths by (for example) focusing on how much smaller here crowds were.

Larger vote count. Hillary has smaller groups and larger vote count, think I will stay with the smaller groups and get the votes.
