BUSTED: Trump-loving comment trolls pose as Sanders and Clinton supporters to divide Democrats

BUSTED: Trump-loving comment trolls pose as Sanders and Clinton supporters to divide Democrats

"SNIP...............

An Internet troll who claims to have found deep divisions among factions of the Left on Twitter laid out a plan Saturday for fellow Donald Trump supporters to exploit those fissures.

Posting on the sometimes-dubious message board 4chan, the anonymous poster wrote a post entitled, “Let’s troll Bernie and Hillary supporters systematically,” where the writer says he/she posed as a Democratic voter and trolled supporters of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in an effort to deepen divisions and help Trump secure a victory in November.

“We need to take advantage of this. This is Trump’s gift,” the 4chan troll wrote. “If we’re serious about a Trump presidency we need to start infiltrating their conversations in order to sow more divison (sic). I’m talking systematic and long-term /mischief/, not just a hew minutes trolling dumbass SJW’s. Look at the chaos and damage I was able to make yesterday, just one person, with no real rudeness in my replies. Imagine that writ large: My account is @realJohnMilIer.”

.............

1.If hundreds of accounts on the Hillary or Bernie/Stein side were saying even worse things it’d make the divisions deeper. 2.If we got people to agree with us the opposing sides would blast each other as dangerous extremists but each would defend horrible tweets. 3. Even if a few or a lot of us were caught, it would increase distrust tremendously among ANYONE on the opposing side.

The user then says he/she was amazed to see the vitriol on the Left.

The relentless attacks on Hillary, Bernie and their supporters have been obnoxious to say the least.

And they've gone undetected by MIRT, so they seem to know what they're doing.

One of them even has the distinct honor of being the only one I've ever seen on DU who defends Hiroshima (he also recently posted the only comment in defense of Bush in a discussion).

MIRT seems to be more than a little asleep at the wheel.

It could be my imagination, but it seems much worse. However, a lot of these posters are long time DUers that have always hated the Clintons.

I wish it were Summer already.

The glee in some of these posts is downright disgusting. Differences in policy? Differences regarding the direction of the party? I get that. Gleeful reciting of right wing talking points and their candidates? Disgusting.

On these people, twisting his campaign around to slam the democrats and Hillary. Obama more or less stuck to to policy.

This place has become an echo chamber and it's mostly negative. Really disturbing and disappointing. I remember there being some out of bounds moments during the 2008 primary but, as you said, the candidates kept it above board.

I'm looking forward to the end of this primary. There were be a few tantrum, end of the world posts and then the real fight begins.

3:30 PM PST. My guess is the got off work back east and popped open a brewski in mom's basement and started posting those long OP's with lot's of pictures and lot's of paragraphs and quotes.

I think those are prepared ahead of time for them to copy and paste. Also several show up at the same time and reply to each other's OP.

Another thing is that their OP's are way over the top. So full of bull shit that they weren't the things regular Bernie folks post. But the get tons of rec's.

When the use of the Internet first began, the Rethugs started using the nets to post false and miss leading posts. Today we call it trolling, and when you read the Rethug Trolls, their spew is pretty much along similiar lines. These trolls work the News Media Commentary boxes as well.
