Related: About this forumSix things the Lord Hates...Which apply to Hillary and which to Bernie?
#Proverbs6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

(45,851 posts)At the risk of appearing predictable, the Bible was and remains the biggest influence on my thinking. I was raised reading it, memorizing passages from it and being guided by it. I still find it a source of wisdom, comfort and encouragement.

(34,648 posts)She prays all the live long day. Not my thing, but I don't do religions. So why should I care? I come from a very religious family, she'd fit right in with them and get on my nerves during holidays if she came round us to sit for a spell. Long as she dont expect me to pray, fuckit.
As an atheist I don't need it at all to tell what is right and wrong.

Either way, see you in the special Hell!

(34,648 posts)Maybe it's a stake through the heart and burying us at the crossroads. Or that could just be the punishment for suicide...
They really need to come up with some standards of execution that we can remember. All this willy nilly stoning, why, we might be getting things wrong and are supposed to be using dragonfire. Who know?
I'll get stones AND swords AND wooden stakes. That way I'm always prepared.

(4,311 posts)You need bundles of sticks too. A good witch burning really brings the community together.
bravenak
(34,648 posts)Gotta keep my tool of the trade together in some semblance of order. Why do we do if we just SUSPECT that a woman might be a witch? I thought it was drowning her, but my mom says poison. We better do both. My neighbor has a grip of cats, her familiars I believe. Might need to witch test her.

(30,058 posts)run a negative campaign and immediately changed this, he has voted many times for military action, it gives MIC's more defense funds, his campaign has devised a wicked scheme to have the super delegates would swing to endorse him, feet that was quick to rush into to say Hillary said he was not qualified when she did not say this, he was a false witness who made the announcement saying Hillary said he wasn't qualified and therefore she was not qualified, and he is not able to keep his supporters from using threats to others in the community.

(40,416 posts)The Bible is not how we select our governmental representatives. There's this thing in Article VI of the US Constitution about "religious tests".
The last paragraph (emphasis mine):
Too bad that so many religious people are either ignorant or in denial.
