Hot off the press- UAW endorses Hillary Clinton

DETROIT, MICH. – The UAW today endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, citing her support for UAW members, her lifelong commitment to the job security of American families, and her ability to unify and win in November.
“Hillary Clinton understands our issues on trade, understands the complexities of multinational economies and supports American workers, their families and communities,” said UAW President Dennis Williams.

Now is a time for unity, a time to focus on what lies ahead in November. Bernie Sanders has brought to this campaign a dialogue that has been needed for far too long. He has been, and remains, a great friend of the UAW, and of working men and women in this country. But, the fact is, Hillary Clinton has shown under pressure her ability to lead and get elected in November.

The UAW’s directors went through the process of surveying and listening to members for input into the campaign season. “We are a family of over 1 million active and retiree members with strong opinions. Now, we have to choose between two very good UAW friends and move forward as a united membership,” said Williams.

Williams also noted that all candidates regardless of political party were sent questionnaires and none of the Republicans responded, including Donald Trump. Trump also had made public comments about wanting UAW member jobs to move to nonunion, low-paying states to compete with Mexican wages. “Mr. Trump clearly does not support the economic security of UAW families,” said Williams.

The Clintons trade deals are what have hurt their profession over the years.

Not that it matters to me. I've already made my voting decision.

because with the trade agreements that let them to send everything overseas and put everyone out of work, now they come across as heroes and bring jobs back-- but get away with paying workers walmart/ mcdonalds wages. The workers in this article just joined the union, I hope they have the sense to vote for the person who plans to raise wages enough to get them off food stamps.

And that wouldn't be Mrs Clinton, with her incrementals up to $12. As a union worker I would be very offended if my union endorsed the establishment candidate.

Those surveys were sent back to International. That is the first time I recall it being done that way. In the past, delegates from each local union would go to a meeting at the regional hdqtrs to vote on their preference.

This involved everyone at a working site that wanted to vote on it.

Even our Retiree Chapter was involved.

I used to love wrestling as a kid but it didn't take long for me to realize it was staged and if you literally hit somebody over the head with a metal chair with the force men of those size could exert someone is going to the hospital or the morgue.

The wrestler made believe he was going to give it to another wrestler as an award and instead hit him over the head with it.

Do they have wrestling in France or is it an American, Canadian, Mexican, and Japanese thing?

Some North American stars "perform" over here.

Fandom is nowhere near what it is in the States, though.
The French are too finely tuned to skepticism and ridicule for that.

They did the math. Sanders didn't have the numbers. They know what is happening just like the DNC members know what is happening with any issues with Clinton. They know that national polls don't mean diddly squat. They know the election for President is based on electoral votes.

Though a Sanders/Trump debate may be good for raising a couple of bucks. Especially for the college in Vermont.
