(10,721 posts)There must be an epidemic of people claiming that there are no more primaries or that Clinton will reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone. I don't see any evidence for that, but why else would there be so many threads/posts about how the voting hasn't concluded or about how Clinton won't reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone?

(10,721 posts)MohRokTah isn't saying Clinton will reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone, nor is he/she claiming all voting has concluded.
Even if he/she was making either claim (and he/she clearly isn't), that would certainly not constitute an epidemic. Yet there is thread after thread after thread exclaiming something about which virtually everyone agrees, which is that Clinton isn't likely to reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone.

(10,721 posts)That's been evident since mid-March, or arguably earlier. In that sense, someone might argue that the race is essentially over--not technically, but practically speaking.
But that doesn't have anything to do with the issue at hand. Where is the evidence that numerous people are claiming that Clinton will reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone or that voting has concluded? If there is no such evidence, why all of the threads implying otherwise? It seems quite a few folks on DU are building an army of straw men.

(744 posts)I'll be quite shocked if he stops the drama even then. The ad views on all this hate must be astronomical.

(10,721 posts)I don't see anyone claiming that all voting has concluded, nor do I see anyone claiming that Clinton will reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone. Yet thread after thread seem to suggest people are, in fact, spreading those memes. I await evidence.

(744 posts)I don't think it's impossible for her to make 2,383 by the convention but I doubt she will. That said, he has to get over 67% of the remaining pledged delegates just to break even with her. She'll win on the first vote at convention and everything will carry on as necessary. The supers won't switch. And all will be well in the world.

(587 posts)I read Skinners post.
He said that when voting is over, they will purge the malcontents and stop allowing the BS on the forum.
Then in another post, this one:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/125910335
He said it will be over when one drops out, one clinches or voting ends. When asked if that meant after June 7th when HRC has enough delegates, or if they had to wait until Washington DC, he said "It's only an extra week to get to the DC primary, we can handle it".
Which indicates that he considers the end of voting to be after the DC primary.
So why are you spreading false memes in Skinner's name?

(4,451 posts)Supers always endorse before the convention. A few days after voting usually.

QUESTION:
"In another ATA thread, you said the admins would wait until the voting ends to clamp down.
Presumably, that means thru the DC primary, barring a concession/suspension of campaign. However, if neither candidate has sufficient pledged delegates, both will claim they can be nominated. Will you let GD: P go on this way until August?
Is it get-behind-the-nominee or hit the road, or will some tolerance toward non-supporting the Dem nominee be exercised, assuming the member is not supporting Trump and otherwise behaves?
SKINNER REPLIES:
This has gone on long enough. Once the voting is done I have no interest in pretending everyone doesn't already know the outcome.
My opinion is that Donald Trump represents an unprecedented threat to this country, and I have no interest in providing a platform for people to act like a Trump presidency isn't such a big deal. I have permitted it during primary season because many people seem determined to pretend we live in a fantasyland where Republicans don't exist -- but once the primary is over reality sets in and we can no longer afford to ignore our Republican opponent.
