MSNBC To the deniers... Watch THIS Video... It is not comforting to think that she may well be the Democratic Nominee...
Hillary really betrayed Andrea Mitchell... The entire context of this report was of a solemn nature... A Funeral so to speak...
Andrea Mitchell "I do not see this report as ...ANYTHING BUT... DEVASTATING!"
Chuck Todd "After this I don't think that she could get confirmed for Attorney General!"
Lots of FIBBING by Hillary here.. for more than a year!

(11,641 posts)This is the epitome of the problem with Hillary Clinton. She's always finding a way to go around the rules...
Clinton came up with a work-around, Johnson says. She had her aides go out, retrieve their phones and call the seventh floor from outsideon open, unsecure lines, he says.
My relationship with that group started downhill when I refused to let them bring phones and computers into my office [at the Special Operations Command], Johnson recalls. It was really an eye-opener to watch them stand outside using nonsecure comms [communications] and then bring messages to the secretary so she could then conduct a secure [call] with the military and the State Department.

(6,007 posts)because they know that Hillary will not survive becuase of the server scandal and they want Bernie out to clear the field so they can put in who they want. They are not going to put someone else in if Bernie is still there. You can laugh all you want, but Bernie has millions of voters and supporters and they are not going to piss all of them off.
And remember . . . .

Don't be smug either. You aren't really SAYING anything, you have no substance. . . just your attitude. That only goes so far. Why not explain how you think it would go with Hillary supporters if they came in an installed Warren as the nominee. They'd never get away with that. They will need all those voters so how can they just piss them all off? It makes no sense other than in someone's fantasy.

(9,967 posts)The conclusion of the OIG report.
CONCLUSION
Longstanding, systemic weaknesses related to electronic records and communications have existed within the Office of the Secretary that go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State. OIG recognizes that technology and Department policy have evolved considerably since Secretary Albrights tenure began in 1997. Nevertheless, the Department generally and the Office of the Secretary in particular have been slow to recognize and to manage effectively the legal requirements and cybersecurity risks associated with electronic data communications, particularly as those risks pertain to its most senior leadership. OIG expects that its recommendations will move the Department steps closer to meaningfully addressing these risks.
Recommendations of the OIG report.
RECOMMENDATIONS
To ensure compliance with Federal and Department requirements regarding records preservation and use of non-Departmental systems, OIG has issued the following recommendations to the Bureau of Administration, the Office of the Secretary, the Bureau of Information Resources Management, the Bureau of Human Resources, and the Departments Transparency Coordinator. Their complete responses can be found in Appendix B. The Department also provided technical comments that OIG incorporated as appropriate into this report.
There are 8 recommendations issued to the State Department by OIG.
State Department management responded to each recommendation.
The OIG replied in each case:
OIG Reply: OIG considers the recommendation resolved.

(9,385 posts)Anyone can just sit outside the embassy and listen, with off-the-shelf eavesdropping devices, he says. We suspected the leaks [came from] somewhere at State at the time.
As a dramatic solution, the Special Operations Command stopped giving advance warning to senior State Department officials about raids, Johnson says. Whatever the cause, the leaks stopped. In February 2012, Dr. Abu and two other senior militants were eventually killed in what was described as a U.S.-backed airstrike.

I can see how insistence on THE law could become a tool for obfuscation of the role of all the others.
I am not at all sure that discounting of all the other standards for performance is a good and proper position. I am pretty sure that disrespecting the intent and guidance of all the other standards to the point of wantonly disregarding them is a bad thing.

(740 posts)Bill Johnson, who was the State Departments political adviser to the special operations section of the U.S. Pacific Command, or PACOM, in 2010 and 2011, says secret plans to eliminate the leader of a Filipino Islamist separatist group and intercept Chinese-made weapons components being smuggled into Iraq were repeatedly foiled.
Johnson, who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and now supports Senator Bernie Sanders, says he had previously witnessed the lax communications habits of Clinton and her aides. In January 2010, Clinton was in Honolulu to give a speech on the administrations pivot to Asia when news of the Haiti earthquake broke. She retreated to the secure communications facility in the basement of Pacific Command headquarters to make calls to various military officials and humanitarian groups to help organize a response to the catastrophe. But she also needed to talk to her senior staff on Mahogany Row, her seventh-floor executive suite back in Washington, Johnson recalls.
Yeah, not gonna believe a word he says.

(46 posts)The way any certain individual views Secretary Clinton and whether or not you agree this is a problem, by using her own server(and deleting thousands of communications, using her judgement) she has become the scapegoat of everything that didn't live up to expectations. This is a perfect example of what her presidency would look like. One investigation after another into if her lack of concern over the security of all her communications, played a part in pretty much anything and everything negative. She brought this upon herself and regardless of if any wrongdoing occurred, she gave any opposition an infinite supply of ammunition to aim at her and her entire administration. If anyone thinks nothing much has gotten done lately, it would only get worse.
SmittynMo
(3,544 posts)She has excessive baggage everywhere. And it never stops. Is this what we want in the White House? I personally, do not.

(6,534 posts)This is the ammunition any opposition is more than happy to use in the GE. There was no national security reason for her to install a private server. There is no excuse that will work for her.

(517 posts)Why do really smart thoutful people put so much trust in a candidate? Its not like average people know them or who they really are. We can only speculate as to their morals. When time and time again that morality comes into question, dont you even look to see if maybe this is a real concern?
Maybe Im just different. I dont trust any candidate even the ones I support. I hope they are worthy of my vote but dont hold out hope. I expect disappointment and then i find another candidate i can live with.
