4. You forgot "money laundering"

If I want to give you a fuckton of money, it's very hard to do without incurring heavy taxes. So, I "hire" you to do something -- give a speech, be a consultant, whatever. Then, it's taxed as ordinary income.

However, if you're smart, you set up a "charity." Then not only is the money not taxed, but I can claim a deduction for it.

It doesn't matter if the "charity" only gives about 6 to 8 percent of its take in charity and the rest in salaries and perks.
